Interestingly, there is a 1997 promotion sticker almost opposite Leeds train station, a couple of doors up from the Scarborough Arms stuck to a window, always makes me chuckle.

I respect your opinion but I disagree. To me, it's art, and I enjoy seeing peoples expressions in the urban landscape, it has the ability to brighten up otherwise dull municipal objects like lampposts.

Ok, on a more serious note it has a multiple layer of meanings. It offers a metaphor to the trials and tribulations that we as Barnsley fans endure. The Love of Barnsley is clear firstly as our town and also as our football club. We have it in our blood, we simply love Barnsley. But there is a paradox. To Love Barnsley football, there is also a deeper underbelly of emotion that runs with it. The highs and lows of watching our team perform and not perform. The big money teams buying success and the premiership aliienating smaller clubs like ours. TV deals making the rich richer and poor poorer. The expansion of Euro VIP leagues, World Cup fraud all create a hatred that conflicts with our love. So it's actually maybe a humourous but perhaps much deeper and more serious reflection on our sporting society and our personal connection to today's football world through supporting our club. There are things in the game we have become to hate. Read WSB, Read Whiteys Blog, Read the Chronicle, Watch Sky Sports and MOTD, It's is all there to see. But more importantly go to a game and listen. Ears are the new eyes. The statement resonates with many, at various levels triggering different emotions and viewpoints. It's a symbol more than a statement. Put simply Love Barnsley, Hate Football. I guess it actually speaks for itself.

    HTH

Might have to expand for an article in WSB

But some people need it explaining. They might not get the tongue in cheek comment but I can explain that later :rolleyes:Their lives would be confused forever it they couldnt put a meaning to it. In fact more people the world over by the sounds of it. I think we need a sticker with the full statement even if it is 6x10 for the uninitiated especially around Leeds

The evidence for the lawsuit is racking up. I'm going to be a millionaire.

PS - Please don't attach stickers to the pyramids, whatever they might say. Probably best to leave the Taj Mahal well alone too. And the ruins at Machu Picchu. Also, Stone Henge, Colosseum, Great Wall of China, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Westminster Abbey, Christ the Redeemer... You know the sort of thing, nice places, use your common.
