Very impressed with Tommy Lee in the Chesterfield goal, much the busier of the two 'keepers even though we didn't play particularly well. As much as I like seeing spectacular goals (and we've had a fair sprinkling of 'em this season), I love seeing scrappy, scruffy ones like today's. Well done, Sam!
Yet another poor performance from the match officials, too.

well thats how it came a cross on player

I apologise for having an opinion on the game I know its not allowed unless you go ... ask Marc... but the commentary suggested we played ok first half, but were a bit clueless as to how to hurt them... the second half sounded mostly us , and indeed it did appear from the commentary that their goal had a charmed life with woodwork and some stirling goalkeeping. The Fat Lady has not sung just yet.... she is quite well warmed up. But even if we do not make the 6th spot we still can have a huge say on who does or does not... and we still should aim for as high a finish as possible.

I usually agree with the dodworth Godfather but thought we should have been dead and buried by half time thought their lead was thoroughly deserved. In the second half we improved when Winnall was brought into the centre and were the better team. I thought a draw was a fair result myself.

I've no doubt that's still the aim. There wasn't much created in the first half from open play. But they were struggling to cope with our set pieces. We played at a higher tempo in the second, especially when Iberhe & Berry were introduced, but the final ball usually left a lot to be desired.

Two fine saves by Lee from Waring and the crossbar saved them from Cranie. Their other two chances in the opening period were straight at Davies. On another day, we could've been well in front without playing particularly well.
Look out for the horse's head in your bed tomorrow morning!:D:D

So we should be dead and buried coz they didn't convert their chances, Our misses/saves hitting the crossbar were irrelevant then? Oh, and their goal came from a slip by Hourihane when their was no apparent danger. They edged the first half but didn't create as much as us.

It's all opinions. I think a draw was a fair result. And given that was the actual result I'm correct.

I do agree with JLWBigLil. We created far more chances first half, free kick from Hourihane tipped wide, hit crossbar, turned over a shot, blocked shots. They had a few long shots into Davis hands and got lucky with the slip. They had good possession but few chances. Second half we created less, but did score and Winnall could have done better when he had time 12 yards out and hit it straight at Lee. We simply game them a lot of space first half final third in defending that made them look better.

    Agree with all that.

Tommy Lee pulled off a cracking save in the first half from Waring (I think), after it fell to him from a corner. I was pretty disappointed with Chesterfield. I expected a footballing side, but they were more of a 'kick and rush' side. We were poor in the first half, but we turned it around after the break and I thought we could've gone on to win. It's a shame that our season is pretty much over, especially as the team we've just played will probably finish in the play-offs, despite looking very average.

Well deserved man of the match award for Lewin. Scowen was also brilliant (as you'd expect) and I was impressed with Berry, when he came on.

I just think they were stronger in the first half, they were closing everything down and causing us to rush our passes however we were certainly the better side in the second half, well that's how I saw it anyways

Unless we secretly won when I wasn't looking then, yes.

Tommy Lee is a very good keeper and showed it today. When Berry and Jambo came on there was only going to be one winner sadly we are lacking a bit of quality and a final ball so we had to settle for a point.

I felt either a draw or is winning by a 1 goal margin were the fairest outcomes as we slightly edged it but weren't dominant at all.

We were poor 1st half but still had great chances from set pieces, 2nd half we were still sloppy in possession but I think a combination of us wanting it a lot more & Chesterfield's players getting nervous meant we gradually got on top.

Scowen a clear man of the match again for me. I think he's been man of the match for me in about half the games I've seen him play in since he joined, love the lad.

Not sure how Nyatanga got man of the match, it was his massive clanger that let their lad in early doors who hit straight at Davies & should've really punished Nyantanga's error.

Felt Berry did really well when he came on. Would like to see him get a start ahead of Hourihane on Tuesday as Pearson took some quality set pieces today so hopefully Hourihane's set pieces won't be missed

Failing to give adequate protection to players, inconsistency with decisions, inability to pick up on some basic issues ( eg. the linesman in front of the West Stand failing to see a ball had gone well over the line, Johnson went ballistic with him for failing to notice it). They weren't to blame for the result, or our poor first half showing, but they were extremely poor in my opinion.
