No. Best the **** teams failed to beat the better ones. No change. Ultra defensive and dull as we were after Winnall's injury under Danny.

If you compare the 10 games Johnson has managed against the same teams when Wilson was manager I Believe after today the points haul is exactly the same.

We are exactly where I thought we would be given our complete rebuild and the age of our team.

Yes, miles better we had attempts on goal and goalkeeper had to make saves!

Folk are kidding themselves if they think we've improved at all since changing manager. I think we did initially, with JOS's arrival albeit against some average sides, at best. But for the last few weeks I'm seeing the same stuff I saw from the same players (pretty much) under the last manager. It's very rare that a completely rebuilt squad of players will click/gel in no time at all and storm through a division. Which is why I was disappointed that the club felt it right to change manager, again.

But, this isn't the squad of players that LJ wants. And so we now must wait to see what he cobbles together and then see what they're doing next season. Unfortunately, I think expectations will be higher next term and so if we're again well adrift of the top six come December, you'd expect the club again to chalk **** on their plan/manager.

I hope I'm wrong. By that, I mean I hope LJ cobbles together a winning squad, one that has us top six from the get go. He'll have an easier task in cobbling it together than Danny had, because Danny's left us with some very capable players and blooded some promising kids. It's over to LJ now to - in my opinion - solve our issue regards width and pace, add a couple of nasty/clever/ugly laikers, and find a system that works.

I'm 100% behind his attempting to do that. And I hope the club prove me wrong if we're not flying next season either, and give him time/support if a difficult spell arrives.

Overall no, we `ve gained wins with both managers that have been poor on the entertainment front.

Isn't no wins in 6 games our worst run of the season?

Isn't 2 defeats in 12 pretty good though, particularly when you look where we were.

The points total against the same teams is exactly the same. No progress at all. And that's not to defend Wilson or attack Johnson. We are a bang average league one side which is to be expected given we had about 6 contracted players about 2 weeks before the season kicked off.

Agree with most of that Whitey, apart from the opening line about folks kidding themselves, it's an opinion they're giving just as you give yours, all valid.
For what it's worth I think performances in general have improved under Johnson, they couldn't have got any worse after 50 odd years of watching the Reds Wilson is responsible for some the best and some of the worst performances I have seen.

Anyone that thinks our performances are ever going to turn into ultra attacking out to win games philosophy is probably overlooking what Oldham fans told us when LJ arrived this is how he likes his teams to play.

Wouldn't surprise me next season if it isn't more of the same in term of results and performances.

The question was about performances not results. I have enjoyed the performances more under LJ than DW where I saw some very dire performances. Hopefully results and performances will improve next season when he builds a stronger squad. As we keep being reminded, these are still DWs players.

Not for sacking anyone but just starting to show no need to sack Danny

I think the performances when we were ultra attacking prior to Winnal's injury were more enjoyable. The performances after that to now I don't see any difference. Keep it tight. Hope to score from set pieces. Performances improved when we signed a quality wide player in JOS and played some poor teams and dipped when we signed a poor one in Stewart and played better teams.

Agree with pretty much all of that. I am still disappointed that we got rid of DW, not because I am not going to support LJ because I am, but because objectively, I don't think he is going to turn out to be any better than DW and given Dannys eye for a good player, we could quite possibly have shot ourselves in the foot big time. Time will tell, but given that we were all on a long term journey with Danny, or so we were told by the club, and it lasted just as long as the first sign of trouble, I have zero faith in the board giving LJ any time or leeway if we dont show signs of promotion next year. If we are only a mid table side next year he will be looking for a new job before February

Aye, you're probably right. Other opinions are no less valid. Even if I know they're ********. :)

I've only seen one performance under LJ that I'd rank alongside a few I saw under Danny. But as said, it's not LJ's squad so I think it's fairer to judge him when it is. Next season.
