That includes players he will try and sign back up so if a few that he wants sign new contracts there won't be so many wholesale changes.

I can see him offering deals to Nyatanga and Cranie. Then try and permanently sign JOS, Ryan Williams, Waring and Jabo.

Add a couple not already with us and that makes the min of eight. Ramage could be another.

Dibble and Oates out of contract. Perhaps they'll be offered new terms? I'd like to see both involved in these last three games, as well as the likes of Maris (out of contract too), Bree, Digby, Cowgill and Nana. Nowt to lose have we?

One also has to acknowledge there may well be one or two players currently under contract who Lee Johnson could want to move on, as he doesn't see a future for them at Barnsley. These players will have to be replaced within the squad, either by promoting from the Academy, or outside the club.
It could be a very interesting close season.

I hope 5 of the 8/12 are loan signings until January

He's been one of the more consistent performers for me, and he'd be the first player signed up were I in charge. I do see that he's got his critics though. Opinions and all that.

    In a season to forget

with virtually no highlights and barrels of disappointment, it wouldnt surprise me if he gets it, he's the main culprit in our leaky dog defense, absolutely not what we need playing centre half in L1 but footballs all about opinions.

If he doesn't give the youth a chance now with nothing to really play for, I don't think he ever will. Bree I can't see being risked this season but if Nana, Maris and Digby don't get gametime I can't see them having a future with us. Cowgill should get a chance.

He's the main reason we're still conceding the same goals

not strong enough, quick enough, clever enough or good enough for whats needed in L1. Brand new centre back pairing needed imho.

Nothing to play for or not I'm never happy paying to watch Digby pass it sideways

We've signed a succession of polite pleasant young men at centre half for the last 30 years.

Digby is genuinely world class at 3 things - pointing, losing the ball on the edge of the centre circle in his own half, and being injured.

A manager is only as good as his signings

that is the cold hard FACT and Johnson has everything to do imho, he's inherited a very average, unbalanced squad but he's got the summer to put it right with so many out of contract, assuming PC gives him the scope, I'll be watching very carefully what he does. If the rumours about Jacobs being one of the trialists is true, then he's on the right lines. If he signs up defenders who've been culpable in relegation and a poor goals against record, he'll be on the same sticky wicket and it;ll be deja vue come September when out goes the "signing permanent players only" mantra and in returns the "panic for loans to save my job" atmos.

How stupid of the club to persevere with someone so obviously useless. They all need sacking. Every one of them. And the groundsman.

Everyone who have given him a chance have been sacked, hopefully Gary's lad can see him for what he is and offload him or give him ten games at centre half to see what he's like there then get rid if he's no good there ether
