Windies are six down and England are going to win but all the focus is on Jimmy getting the wicket that takes him past Botham's record for England.

Only a matter of time. Shame it couldn't happen at Lords or somewhere like that.

Hard to compare eras and records but it will be a fantastic achievement.

Aye whatever the era Sir Ian used to do it while smashing centuries in between bowls.

Very good bowler. Better had he not been averaging well over 30 for a large part of the first half of his career, I'm part due to the coaches messing with his action.

Trueman still the best English fast bowler. He'd have had nearly 450 wickets had he played the same number of games as Anderson.

He's been a terrific asset for England for so long. One of our best ever.

Yes you are probably right about both things there. England haven't had the best of coaching over recent years and there are certainly a lot more international cricket matches now than in Trueman's day.

Need to get this number 8 batsman out, then the match will be won. Until then it's not a certainty. He's very good at straight batting but can he do it for another 13 overs or so?

You don't read this board much then Ron? Plenty of cricket fans on here, both Yorkshire and England.

I know this is a football board but you would struggle to give it that label some days!

Although to be fair Fred might have had a hand with uncovered wickets. ;)

Disappointing draw but that's test cricket for you. More tense finishes these days or so it seems

Not that many, seeing as he usually bats at number 11. Plenty of good performances though - best was with Monty Panesar to save the game at Cardiff in the first Ashes test not too long ago. They batted together for over an hour I think to force the draw.

Jimmy and his wickets overshadowed by a poor draw. 130 overs to bowl our argueably the worst test side (yes Bangladesh included) and instead the Windies get the second longest length of time ever batted to save a test.

We need to look at our bowlers, Cook not declaring soon enough and those in bat not playing 20/20 style with wickets in hand to get a decent lead much faster.

Needs 31 runs to pass 1000 runs at test level.

How many cricketers have taken 400 wickets and scored over 1000 runs?

I'm guessing Kapil Dev n Shane Warne off the top of my head.

    Got those two correct.

Also Sir Richard Hadlee and Wasim Akram.

So the Burnley Lara needs another 16 wickets and 31 rhns to join a very elite group.
