Got to admit I did. Very rare I leave early but it was so poor I'd had enough a couple of mins into added time. Mind you I reckon probably half the crowd had gone. Serves us reyt.....
I learnt my lesson many years ago, mid 70s. Think we were playing Cardiff in an FA Cup round, and drawing 2-2 I left before final whistle and missed an Ian Banks 30 yd screamer into Ponty End goal. So I said I would never leave a game before final whistle., and I never have since.
I've never left a game early, be it BFC or a neutral game. I wouldn't leave the cinema before the end of a film...
I never leave early so I saw it too. Don't get why some leave before whistle every match! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
23 September 1980. League Cup 3rd round. Cardiff equalise 4 minutes into injury time. Ian Banks' 18 yard volley from a half-cleared corner 2 minutes later hits the underside of the bar and bounces down and in. Cue much merriment in the Ponty.
Remember years ago playing watford a boring game looked like a nil nil all over it left early walking past school and just heard we scored. Was gutted.
People near me in the ESL near half way left with over ten minutes to play so they missed about 16 mins altogether. Beats me why some people bother paying to watch football.
Never left early since in the old Division Four, I left with the Reds leading 2-1 against Northampton Town. By the time my car had got to the end Ponte Road, I learnt from John Webster that we had won 5-1.
I did. I lasted until the ref announced 4 minutes of extra time and then decided to scarper as there was no chance of us equalising....
"No chance of us equalising" - sorry, how do you work that out? Were we playing Barcelona or something, who had already stuck ten past Adam Davies? Could we not get over the half way line, so good were the opposition? I always stay to the end because you never know what is going to happen. Had that gone in a minute earlier we could well have gone back up and got another one!
Happy to admit I was obviously very wrong! Just got fed up that after 15 minutes playing a 10-man Peterborough we didn't seem to be making any headway. Won't make the same mistake again...
Anybody see all the Liverpool fans leaving Wembley early? Their end was half empty at full time! I know losing at Wembley isn't much fun, but 1-0 down in the FA Cup semi final!?!?! Beyond me
Almost. I was woken up by me favva who was shocked we had played a ball into the box to win a corner, from which we scored, instead of more tippy tappy borefest
The funniest though was the Noddy Holder lookalike who had 'entertained' the Ponty all through the second half with his impression of the foghorn from Grimsby docks. He left a couple of minutes before the goal, which is why everybody sitting round me made the same noise when we scored.
