    Early signings sometimes mean either we are loaded (as agents will want to play the game and get best deal with protracted conversations) or they are destined to sign nowhere else.

    If they're signed in August that's another season wasted then, I said it last summer and I'm saying it again pre season is the most important time of year for all clubs so they can hit the ground running if you don't you're in for the sort of season we've just had,

    Two tall commanding physical presence pacey centre backs, a defensively minded left back, hard grafting tackling leader in midfield, target man striker who can contribute goals and an accomplished L1 goal scorer as competition for Winnall.

    Earlier yes, early, not necessarily. I don't want to rush to sign the first 12 players we see then be lumbered with bad players. Hopefully we identify the targets we want and stick to them even if it means some not signing while well into July.

    Last season we needed to re-build an entire squad and couldn't do this until certain players had left. I'm pretty pleased with what we ended up with considering.

    This summer is totally different. We are in no rush to sign players early and I would rather LJ waits until the right players come along. If that is in May great. If it is in August then so be it. A couple of new faces coming in August wont rock the boat like throwing 25 players together in August did.

    Whatever we do people will complain.
