And it really was good to meet you guys that did it too. Although after the memorial service, I got a taxi to train station, train from Bradford to Leeds, train to Wakey. Taxi from Wakey home, in the pub for 4. No one said you had to stay and watch that mess. And yes I did pay for my ticket. Oh and had a little tear in my eye when the Bradford fans clapped us home, meant the world.
I felt the same. In fact every fan we met said "Thank You". really brings it home what it means to them
Yep, a brilliant moment to see all the Bradford fans stand to applaud and both sets of players do the same,
Each and every one of you deserve the plaudits quite rightly coming your way. On an extremely emotional day, you've all brought great pride to the club, town & our community through your efforts. Well done to you all. You're bloody fantastic people.
Well done to everyone involved in today's walk etc. Proud to support a team with amazing fans like you lot.
Couldn't have asked for a finer bunch to walk with. Even though I still don't know most of your names. Ladies and Gentlemen the lot of you. We carried each other round. Teamwork. We hobbled back to station, then took a short train trip up the Aire Valley to home. I cried three times - photo taken at Welcome to Bradford sign. Lap of pitch (lost it) and welcomed by fans at Tong school. Was a pleasure - am proud of you all, my son, and myself. Hurting like hell now though Comedy moment for me, fat kid on the moped revving it through Dewsbury. He was far too big for it. Tom pipes up "Oh look, Dale Jennings has come to join us"
We're Barnsley fans Kev, it's what we do. Forget the numpties with flares or breaking seats, THIS is what we're about.
Re: Couldn't have asked for a finer bunch to walk with. Walked quite a bit with you Andy, between Netherton and Dewsbury when you said the down hill was hurting you more. That last 5 mile told more than anything. Well done, and well done Tom, who was clearly struggling.
Re: Couldn't have asked for a finer bunch to walk with. He was determined to complete and I am proud of him. He has some new-found respect from his City mates who have praised him to the hilt. Ah yes, Netherton. So good we did it twice Pleasure to meet you mate. Have a great evening.
I only wish I'd been strong and healthy enough to join you all. You've brought pride to the rest of us and it's extremely humbling to know such great people.
Totally agree my friend... I am so proud of them all and what a wonderful relationship this will build... no strike that comment... it HAS built between us and the Bantams a stronger bond... Its just a shame that all clubs cannot bond.. Today I am proud of my County, my Tarn , my club... my fellow supporters... and the end result matters not a jot.
Sorry Kev, all we've done is walk a few miles, for the grace of God we have been allowed to do that. God rest the 56.
You're extremely modest, a trait shared with all decent, good people. I echo your sentiments. God Rest the 56.
