juntion 38 may be better for them

but AA route planner shows that they do not need the M1 at all... they cut off the M62 and come through Huddersfield :)

Even then it sounds like they're fetching more fans than managers.

I'm sure all of them will know. They all live on the same street.

    ....what traffic problems?

You can probably leave Rochdale at about 11:45, and still have time for a pint.

    :p

Barnsley’s Tour de Yorkshire road closures confirmed

    Friday 24 April 2015

Residents of Barnsley and spectators visiting for the Tour de Yorkshire on Sunday, 3 May are asked to note that road closures will be implemented on the day. This is to facilitate the race as it passes through the borough.

The following roads will be affected in the town centre; Eldon Street, Regent Street, Church Street, St Mary’s Gate and Church Lane. These will be closed from 10am until approximately 3pm to any form of public vehicle, although there will be access for pedestrians until shortly before and directly after the race.

Roads outside of the town centre which include; A61 Barnsley Road, A61 Wakefield Road, A61 Old Mill Lane, , A635 Huddersfield Road, A635 Wilthorpe Road, A635 Barugh Green Road, A635 Lane Head Road will be subjected to closures from 12.20pm to 1.15pm as part of rolling road closures.

The Tour de Yorkshire team have ensured that there will be minimum disruption to traffic when the closures take place.

Barnsley Council would also like to advise that parking will be prohibited on the race route between 10am and 2pm.

Spectators are urged to allow plenty of time for their journey and plan their route in advance.

Those who don’t plan to watch the cycle race but need to travel on the affected roads on Sunday, 3 May are also advised to plan changes to their regular journey or route in advance.

To see a map of the Barnsley route and for further details of the road closure please visit http://www.visit-barnsley.com/tour-de-yorkshire-in-barnsley
