No, that's not what I said now is it? Getting excited about going on the pitch is completely different to disobeying club requests in disregard of thousands of fellow fans. If people want their kids to run around on the pitch, they can book them in to be a mascot. Then they actually get to SHARE the pitch at the same time as their heroes. That's the kind of experience that's got the making of a fan for life and it isn't to thousands of others detriment. Adults willfully taking their kids on the pitch against the clubs request, is inconsiderate. They should be teaching their kids that. How self important is it to deprive everyone who's well-behaved and staying in the stands of the proper farewell, just so they can wander around on a patch of grass because maybe it might make their kid follow Barnsley for life? Never heard of anyone telling the story of how the became a fan for life by recounting the time they encroached on the pitch for five minutes while the players desperately sprinted in the opposite direction.
He may be but they used to get off sharpish too as I distinctly remember the players being on the pitch for the mutual appreciation. People have also always committed theft and murder, doesn't make it right.
Attendances now your talking - i predict the attendance on the field after the final whistle will be 865
Not arguing the reights and wrongs just pointing out that its been goin on for as long as I can remember.
Obviously the extent that people on the pitch bothers an individual varies from person to person. All I am saying is that one of my best memories as a Barnsley fan is going onto the pitch for the first time as an 11 year old when we beat Bradford in 97. Obviously this was extra special because of the significance of the game, but I would have been as happy going on the pitch after playing Yeovil in a meaningless end of season game. Nobody can take that memory away from me and I wouldn't want to take that memory away from anyone else. People on the pitch clearly bothers you more than me, but it is not a question of right and wrong (like most things) it is a matter of opinion. When I have kids I will take them on the pitch. Apologies in advance.
It's a patch of sh*tty grass. Take them to a field, that's got grass too. ******* hallowed turf. **** me.
Football's reight good. Ooh, dun't stand up. Ooh, dun't swear. Ooh, dun't drink in view o' t'pitch. Ooh, dun't go on t'grass. Gi'e us thi brass, clap like a seal in thi seaat, gu ooerm. No wonder we all ******* love it.
Anyone over the age of 12 on the pitch should be running the risk of either being tasered or blown out of the ground with a water cannon.
I'd ban them from the ground for the next season. That'll put them off. Childish and stupid to run on the pitch, I just don't see the point.
I'll be taking my 12 year old daughter on. If you're offended I'm not that interested. Feel free to abuse me, I'm a grown up I can take it.
Clearly not if you can't obey the rules that are provided to you, and just HAVE to take your daughter onto a patch of grass.
