..........or should that be............... at the moment is Barnsley FC at its lowest confidence for at LEAST the last 10 years?

My enthusiasm has waned drastically over the season to the point we are at now

We have now finished middle of the 3rd Division............a very poor 3rd Division at that

Nothing so far to suggest things will change next season

Its a matter of just waiting now to see what happens in the close season........if anything

We are expecting another clear out to add to all the other clear outs that Barnsley have been through over the last number of seasons.

We need someone or something to get the WELL buzzing again..........whether that something is a new owner or a set of talented new players - then whatever it is it needs to be something significant

Yes. Inexperienced manager. Poor football being played. Instead of tweaking the squad another clear out planned setting us back another season. Ho hum.

Gunna have to hope it's new players then because the Cryne's are going nowhere. And I'm happy about that. I just wish Patrick would give one of these managers the necessary time.

The last two seasons have, generally, left me feeling completely flat and having to drag myself to games.

The way I see it is this.

We exited the Prem and were then struck with the ITV collapse. Two big hits to our revenue streams just when our ongoing plans were built on optimism and the sunny uplands. A shake of the dice from Mr Ridsdale and a hard-nosed rescue from Mr Doyle, followed by our transfer to the joint stewardship of Mr Cryne and BMBC.

An unexpected promotion, followed by panic when Andy Ritchie wasn't given enough time to acclimatise to the Championship. Appointment of an inexperienced Simon Davey (which knackered him and us). Robins project given too little time and more panic when we went for austerity - acknowledging Mr Cryne's health problems and business difficulties at this time.

Austerity in the form of Hill and Flitcroft a massive mistake. Totally unsuited to a club of our stature - even in reduced circumstances. We then appoint Danny 15 years out of his time, when he was out of touch, not up to date and lacking his former recruitment and motivational skills. (None of that affects my view of him as a legend for what he achieved previously).

Lee Johnson is young, close to his playing days, very well qualified in coaching terms, and in synch with the wider philosophy that the club's hierarchy appear to want to build. He is measured, intelligent in footballing terms, and appears to have a sense of decency and a sense of humour, whilst remaining honest with his players (painfully so to some of them).

In short, I agree with Whitey that he MUST be given time. After all, we are running out of options.

Well, I'm looking forward to the last match of the season tomorrow. My 4th of the campaign, the first being LJ's first home game against Coventry City. It might not sound a lot, but I've traveled over 33,000 miles for those 4 games, so I just make the best of it.

cant argue with his point,no optimism on my behalf for next season.Another fcukin clear out, highest earners gone again((soon they'll be playing apprentices on two quid an hour),its same old same old as any other season.Very little to look forward to imo and i'd be surprised if lee johnson is here in 18 months.Be ace if things pan out differently but after yet another pre season of Aldi shopping followed by the usual, they havnt had time to gel period, i cant see it,in fact chances are lee johnson will have to go to one of those community shops this summer so it'll be a miracle if things improve.

.............I'm not a wind up merchant..................not this post or any others I've posted in the passed...........not bright enough for that

What I do tho is think about a subject and then throw it on here to see what others think about it - I try to look at things differently

Not everybody has that ability - JackTatty being one of the obvious ones to mention

Some people get 'Wind Ups'.........mixed up with asking them to actually think for themselves
