About a guy who was about to take his life jumping into the Thames. A guy stopped and talked him down. After six years he finally found the guy who saved his life.

    Question.

If you saw someone in that situation could/would you do something or walj on by?

I really couldn't say. I'd like to think I'd do summat, but then, they'd probably jump if the only other choice was listening to me...

I have been there, both sides of the story. I didnt jump because someone that i now call a close friend came and stood with me for 2 hours and listened to me, didnt judge and gave me some fantastic advice.
4 years ago I found a lad 19 years old , stood ready to jump into a raging flooded river, pissing it down with rain and all I wanted to do was get back inside the boat with the dogs, but I didnt, I stayed with the lad and talked and listened, I may seem like a complete arsehole on here , but I aint. I now see Julian most weeks at church here in wakefield, he is doing well and is fully recovered from his breakdown and is a father to be.

Having met you mate the last thing I'd think of you is a arsehole....as for the OP I'd like to think that I'd stop and try to help, I can't ever imagine walking on by and ignoring the situation,

Reading the comments on here this season probably sent a few to the bridge in the first place...

In all seriousness, I can't imagine anyone just ignoring a potential jumper and walking on. Most would stop and watch, some would try to help. But these situations are incredibly complex, and there's a risk that intervention may simply make things worse.

I think I'd just call the police.
