but the electorate that would have voted DUP are right of centre - if they lived in England they would vote Tory. So they are not going to be massively put out by a coalition with the tories.
You want rid of the Tories and the only way to guarantee a labour government and no more Tories is vote labour so what do you all go and do..... Vote SNP!
Still too early to assume the exit poll is right. But the exit poll itself predicted that labour would be strong in the north east and would gain a swing of 5% from the tories. In the event the swing in sunderland south was 4%, so not a good sign for labour.
Totally different in Ireland mate, the politicians are tribal more on sectarian than mainstream. But that could change if they form a coalition as the lib dems found out. Dont care much for DUP tbh, they voted with the Tories in 1992 to close a large number of mines as some Tory MPs in mining areas voted against the govt and it looked as though they had lost til DUP came along for their piece of silver.
It doesn't seem to register who will actually be running the country. Clever by the Tories stitching up the working classes by their machinations in the referendum but daft to fall for it.
I'm bitter? Don't think so. I just voted for the party who in my opinion would benefit me and my family. What is wrong with that? I'm Scottish and live in Scotland and as such feel I get pi55ed on more than you guys by Westminster. So like many I am revolting in the only way I can. Through the ballot box. I'm sorry you in Yorkshire do not have the same option as myself but I'm sure you'd love to have the opportunity that I have. Bur living in a Tory free land is wonderful.
They're blindsided by their hatred towards everything English and can't see the wood for the trees you're wasting your breath.
Based on the two results so far, the clear assertion so far is that the Lib Dems are in for a slaughtering tonight. And UKIP are picking up large vote shares even though they won't actually win many seats. Difficult to know what is the right future direction for the voting system, based on tonight so far, a PR system would give UKIP about 50 or 60 seats.
Menai I just do not think that would ever happen. If the SNP did as you say Nicola would go the same way as all those Labour MPs in Scotland. That would just be political suicide. As long as Nicola has the majority of Scots supporting her the dream of Independence is still alive.
Rumour has it that Ed Balls is in trouble, may not win his seat. I didn't realise how marginal it was.
That's exactly what will happen, the lib dem boys did the same defected from labor to lib dem clegg and his team knew what had gone off and still joined them and that's what'll happen here in effect by not voting red they've voted blue
Hmm I really don't like the tone of that comment. I sincerely hope you are not suggesting that I have a hatred for the English. As that is so far off the mark.
No chance of the SNP teaming up or even looking at Tories, they'd string em up from the lamposts if they did.
