You mean 'our' government, and all your doing is demonizing a party that you didn't vote for. None of what you said is backed up by any facts. I don't think the Tories are perfect, they have policies that I disagree with but likewise the labour party are far from perfect too.
Employers are not allowed to increase the rate to include holiday pay so if some are doing that, it is illegal.
No not at all. All Wombwell high school. Some raised on council estates, some not. Just kids that either went to uni, went into trades, self employed, or just worked their way up over time.
Very few of my mates in the Fev, Ponte area are on less than 25K per year. Id say mainly between 30k and 50k. with the odd one on quite a bit more.
I think (whatever the figure is) comes from membership and expenses of all the organisations he's involved with.
Your last sentence typifies nothing I have ever come across. It just doesn't happen in 99 percent of cases. Otherwise I'd be earning 6 figures. And plenty of other folk would too. Most places allow a certain level of upward moment but I am convinced that people are then held back because some line management wouldn't hack you then being above them. It's why I walked out my last job.
Probably true that it doesn't happen often that people climb all the way up the ladder at the same firm. Its rare these days that people stay in one place most of their working life. The people who get on are those prepare to be mobile and move jobs when the right opportunities arise.
No one I socialise with earns 60k+. Teachers, headteachers, tradesman, civil servants... They're not on the poverty line, obviously, but 60k is a big wage. *Edit* They might do if they were doing the same job in London, but not in Barnsley.
not sure of the figures but i would be surprised if your head teacher friend was far away from 60k even if its a small primary.
Brickies, plasterers, roofers, electricians, plumbers, teachers, doctors, scientists etc all earn more than £25,000 a year in Barnsley. ASOS are probably the lowest payers in the borough.
They are not though, plenty of others paying less than them. Try having a look at old folks homes carers etc. None are above the absolute minimum, even the Senior staff get less than £7. It does seem I have lived a bloody sheltered life.
I would guess that ..white van men.. with a trade, plumbers, plasters etc are on decent wages which ups the average of local folk Having said that, i'am a lorry driver, I and all the drivers I know get more than £471 pw.... my misses gets min wage
