LeeJay says we'll be lucky to hang on to him. Is that code for saying providing we get a price, we'll take our chance with someone who works harder?
No I think he's saying Connor is a very good player who will attract interest. It happens at every club in the world. If you've got a talent there will always be suitors.
I've said it for months now Johnson will get rid of anyone with skill & flair and replace them with grafting cloggers with a defensive mindset
From what I've seen and the way he sets up his team, one striker up top and him being a defender, everything's geared towards out working teams and nicking a goal Time will tell, He straight out of the Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis mould
Chelsea only play one striker. Madrid only play one striker. And look at where the teams who play one striker actually are. Or maybe he played one strikerbecause our strikers are *****, minus Winnall
But their one striker are not defenders like ours, the sole purpose or Ibrie and wearing under Johnson was to get the ball keep it as long as possible try to draw a foul and stop the opposition having the ball
One striker is how the majority of teams set up nowadays. Not often you see an 'old-fashioned' 4-4-2 with two wingers, and two strikers. From what I've seen, he likes to get the ball down on the deck and play football, but mix it up if we need to. I think he'll do well with us, but I have thought that before, admittedly. For what it's worth, he was a central midfielder in his playing days.
I think he'll do well for us too, but anyone expecting attacking expansive football, can't see the wood for the trees, it's going to be well organised hard working disruptive football, and he'll recruit players to that end and as I've already said our front man isn't a striker he's a defender first and foremost
Got an history of selling his best players. Look at the Chronicle today mentioning the two he sold for Oldham for around a million quid. If the right money comes in this summer for Winnall, Scowen, Houriane, Bree, Holgate etc they will be offskis.
We aren't owned by the same guy that owns Leeds United. I doubt we sell players from under the manager or "head coach". If LJ isn't happy with a bid he will turn it down like it says in the Chronicle from him.
Spot on. I'm not sure who it was that Oldham sold for that kind of money, but I'd bet it was somebody above Johnson that accepted it.
