Golovkin's nothing like Lacy. You only have to look at his amateur credentials to see the difference in ability. The big thing here is whether Golovkin can carry his power up a division & whether Froch can go to war one more time at 38/9 & after spending over a year out of the ring. P.S. The fight won't happen. Froch keeps mentioning fighting on but he knows there's no better way to retire than after that knockout at Wembley. I'd be shocked if he fought on especially as he's not a flash guy & won't waste his fortune
He may not be flash, but he's got a massive ego. Judging by his comments this week and his interview on Radio Five this morning, he knows he needs another fight to then immediately retire afterwards. With everything that's happened in boxing the last 12 months, Froch retiring would be a bit of a damp squid. He needs one more fight followed by an immediate retirement to get all the accolades across the more casual forums.
Unfortunately the rumours have come from Jeff Powell who's a laughing stock in boxing. He gets everything wrong. Wish it was true!
Froch said the exact same to Radio Five today. As much as Powell is shocking, he tends to be ok when he's just relaying actual quotes and not giving his own opinion or inside knowledge.
