Can anyone recommend an engineer or a repair shop. I am sure I have a virus but had a home visit (got him from the Chron.) who messed around for 2 hours charged £60 and its no better.

Why do you think your PC has a virus? Have you run a virus scan?

turn it off and then turn it back on whilst pressing F10 , this should take you to an option to system restore. you can reset your system back to factory settings

it starts ok then runs very slow and freezes for 1 or 2 minutes. Sometimes it stops completely and I switch it off. When I restart it same procedure.

Has the fan packed in? Sounds like it could be overheating

If you've restored it back to factory settings and it's still the same, then it's not a virus, as this procedure would have rid your computer of any infection. Any issue would be a hardware rather than a software problem.

    How old is your computer?
Is it a laptop or a desktop?
What version of windows are you using?
