I've heard him linked with Liverpool as well. He'll be a premier league player next year I'd have thought.
Cracking player is Trippier. His career could have gone either way at one point considering he was always out on the piss with Liam Dickinson, Butterfield ect. He's really knuckled down under Dyche. Definitely the best right back outside the top division. Worth another go in a more competitive premier league side.
Good look to him. The only right back as good as Nicky Eaden in my time watching us. Be great to see him as an England regular one day with Stones.
I know Kieran, and I'll take his word on it thanks. 250k they wanted, City, with a 40% sell on clause. It'd been agreed when Robins was still in charge and was put to Keith upon arrival (and Harry Forrester) but Keith told the board that he could get Wiseman and Done for that same figure. Fair play to the club for backing his judgment. Shame Keith saw summat in Wiseman that we never did. Quicker than Trippier, but that's about it. Granted, Forrester is no better than Done. Anyway, Trippier went to Burnley on loan instead, and was sold for 400k the following January, with a 40% sell on clause inserted. And was rightly regarded as one of the best full backs in the Premier League last season. Would have preferred to see him go to Liverpool, stay local etc. But we'll see I suppose. Chuffed for the lad. Both he and Drinky were a God-send for Jacob when here. All three were good mates and motivated each other to be the best they could be. Because of course, as someone mentioned further up, they could easily have ended up like Mellis etc. It's nice to see so many of that era's BFC laikers doing so well right now.
Eaden, Hassell, Trippier in that order. Top three for me. I loved Stonesy, but in his brief appearances for us he never convinced me he had much when in the opposition's third. But then, he always looked a centre half and it's as one that I judge him. The best English one at present, alongside Cahill.
I thought he was good, aye, but he played in the same team as Eaden mainly, and wasn't here long. I'd put Eaden and the other two ahead of him. But then, I'd have O'Connell in my all time XI so I'm hardly representing the majority at this type of thing.
