Wasting your time pointing that out. It's definitely gonna happen according to the OP.

Good god this is getting tedious.

We sell players - bfc are cnuts

We keep players - we have no ambition

Think back over last five season of all players we've lost for next to nowt and all the loan players we've had slip through our fingers, and you think clubs losing one or two players is in the same bracket as what we do.

We've been pretty abject in the transfer market but the turnover of players at Barnsley is no worse than it is at other similar sized clubs.

Given we are a self proclaimed selling club, having to create saleable assets while trying to be competitive over the past few years then I am not suprised by our last 5 years. It's clear when we were in the Championship 10k crowds, low marketing and TVS income and no parachute payments (now worth 65m alone) then we had to cash in.

I wish were were only forced to sell the odd good player and got great money for them (market value or above). Instead we sell a constant stream of our best players on the cheap.

Because my memory is fading can someone list over the last 10 years players who we wanted to keep but sold for good money.
I bet the list isn't that long

The list of players we've wanted to keep but sold for rubbish money will be longer.

A list including good or rubbish money return would still be interesting but only for players we didn't want to go. Other than stones I can't think of that many

Can anyone remember the last time we told a player he couldn't leave for next to nowt, and made him see out the contract he was willing to sign a couple of years previous, before we turned him into a player better club would like to steal, as it ever happened ? .

Shackell, Butterfield, Howard, McIndoe, Davies, Vaz Te, Bogdanovic. I'm sure we wanted all of them to stay. I think we sold them all, could be wrong on Shackell and Boggy.

Vas te ,Butterfield, shackell, howard I was disappointed when they left. I have read on this thread that we are a selling club but apart from the ones listed we are not very good at it or make much money from it. Thanks ponty for the names and as for trying to hold on to a player who we have had bids for I can't remember that happening but as I am trying to point out most players in and out of our club are either released or guided out to save on wages or are not what the new managers want. Selling well is the only way for us to strengthen and build slowly without risking financial ruin as our gates are not big enough and limited TV money \ sponsorship

Can only speak for one of those with any authority, and he would have been sold to Newcastle in January 2012 for around £2,000,000 had Michael Brown not intervened. And if BFC wanted to keep him, I still scratch my head and wonder why they then offered him just 12 months on less money than they eventually gave Cranie, Mellis and Mido.

I think Vaz was offered 15 times his BFC wage by West Ham.

Howard, I've no idea. I sacked the BBS off just prior to that period so dunno the rumours etc. I just assumed there'd been a fallout considering we eventually got a lot less than the £10,000,000 Cryne once mentioned regards his value to us. And the club that took him were that cnuty one from S2.

McIndoe, Shackell and Davies had release clauses didn't they? Similar to Hammill?

And Bogdanovic got ahead of himself and ****** his career up.
