totally agree wi thi but can you really see him dropping to L1 and taking such a huge pay cut... I , like you, would go and pick him up personally ...but I cannot ever see it happening. Unless we get promoted next season, then we might have a slim chance.
Difficult question as they are both very different characters and players and at different periods of their careers. O'Grady is a lower half of the Championship level target man whereas Sam is a developing finisher style player untried at anything above me table League 1. At the same time Sam has the potential to develop whereas given age GOG won't. They would make an ideal partnership (though that won't happen). Given their respective ages I'd go narrowly for Sam based on potential though I'd still rate GOG as a better player at the moment.
I think Winnall is better than him but i would love him back. Him and Winnall would be a prefect set up for this league. That plus Hourihanes crossing/set pieces.
I would take him back. But he is nowhere near our price range. We let him go in the first place because he was on too much money, if he's on more now then that puts us world's apart. Reckon he'll end up at some lower end championship side. He can certainly do the business if he's played in the right way, and at the right price.
Wages discounted, O'Grady every day of the week. It did annoy me when he went out to the wing too but my god he didn't half relieve pressure on the defence with his hold up play, strong as a ******* ox.
If he would take around a 75% cut to sign for us for around 3 or 4 k a week yes. If not than no because signing him on anything more would eat into our budget too much unless we financed it by selling one of our assets, which i'd rather we didn't.
