Or will we be rushing about trying to sign players a couple of weeks before season starts again, I think we could be struggling again to be honest, just hope not, our lackadaisical approach last season cost us any chance we had of a decent season, the club know who they want, and what they need, I have no doubt in my mind, but I just can't see them getting their business done swiftly and efficiently. which is what I think is imperative to us having a good season next term, it just seems that transfer deals for us take an age just to dot i's and cross t's, we hear who we're after 6 week later we sign them, and it's getting worse every transfer window, I don't really keep a eye on other clubs dealings, but ours are shockingly slow, Kid from Halifax signed last week and said its nice to finally have it all sorted, giving the impression it's taken quite a while to get over the line, so because of this I think we could be in for a struggle again.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se Why are you so pessimistic? You, like I, don't know what's happening behind the scenes so try having a little faith.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se Yawn. You'll find not many clubs if any at all have signed all transfer targets by now but don't let that stop you.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se History is a grate teacher, and it as a habit of repeating itself, it's seems more and more recently that we sign a player and Ben or manager say he's someone we've been after a while, so they're telling us it's hard getting deals done,
I do not think we will all his targets in time for the first friendly but I am pretty sure Lee will be fairly close to his chosen ones. I am sure that he will have a full compliment by the first game of the season. I am thinking of his permanent targets here too... we may well leave any targeted loans till the bitter end.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se Yawn, every post I make is always a dig a the club isn't it, if you read my post without the .:Tyke:. Is having a dig at the club again blinkers on, I'm getting at the state of football these days rather then the club.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se Its the 3rd of June. Transfer window doesnt even officially open until the 1st of July. Far too early to be worrying about this.
Re: I do not think we will all his targets in time for the first friendly If we're to bring in the majority of our targets at the opening of the Summer transfer window, I think it's fair to say we'll have to pay a little over the odds when it comes to salary or potential transfer fee. Players have no need to jump at the first contract offer made to them and usually wait to see if other choices are available. In order to choose a particular club over others in this situation, it may well be necessary to gamble & push the boat out a little, financially speaking. Clubs have to weigh up whether this is a prudent move for themselves, especially if some fans persistently demand this course of direction, irrespective of the consequences. Is it better to bring in players earlier in the window (giving the manager a better opportunity to assemble his squad for the coming season), but accruing a higher cost, or show patience and hope you can still bring in your preferred targets at a lower and more affordable price? It's a fine balancing act for most clubs. If you're Chelsea FC, then this probably isn't too much of a concern. If you're Accrington Stanley FC, it definitely is. Most other clubs will fall somewhere between the two.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se That's what people said this time last year
cannot fault that view my friend I just hope any 'late arrivals' have had the good sense to get down the gym and arrive with a good level of fitness.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se How many times do you need telling. O'Grady ****** all our pre season preparation up by not making his chuffing mind up
Re: cannot fault that view my friend I agree, but that situation tends to crop up if the player signed later on in the transfer window hasn't got a club.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se Yes it is. No you weren't as you said you don't keep an eye on other clubs and your post rambled on inanely about BFC
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se The reason I brought other clubs up was because I'd an idea they'd be same, because as I made a point saying I do believe we know what we need and who we want but we just don't seem to be able to get deals done quickly, who is that blaming the club, at the end of the day I'm right and you're wrong just admit it
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se We don't have such restraints this season, would like to bet we'll get 60% of our deals done in time for the first friendly ?
I think we may see some incomings soon though now that we are into June and contracts have ended and released player lists are made available.
Re: Do you reckon we'll get the bulk of our transfer dealings done in time for pre se And we also don't have anywhere near the same budget. Even if players become available they have to be within this seasons lowers budget.
