I think it's pc silliness. Just like the final appointment, interviewees should be selected on merit.

    And

If racism is the reason there are so few BME managers then those same employers will just pay lip service to this rule, have a token BME candidate and employ a white bloke anyway.

    It's a silly rule.

QPR have already pre-empted it by giving Chris Ramsay the job because, let's face it, he hasn't got it on merit.

Based on percentage of ethnic minorities in the country, the Football League and Premier League aren't far off where they should be, maybe one managers job away.

It'll be illegal to be a white football manager soon due to the amount of stupid idiots ramming PC down everyone's throats

I've given my opinion without being racist, and I'd hope there isn't any perception of racial tone from anyone as there isn't any.

Can't you manage to give your opinion in a similar manner?

    Absolutely ludicrous.

I think it's a non-issue myself, but some members of the BME footballing community disagree clearly, some more outspoken (and famous) than others, so I don't really know.

Is this a worldwide issue? I'm struggling to think of many BME managers in other countries.

The majority of coaches at the African Nations were white.

You could argue the same point for many white managers who despite having very poor CVs still keep getting jobs. I think this proposal is ridiculous but if I was black and couldn't get a job in management I would get a little pi55ed off seeing the same failed white dross managers getting job after job after job.

Would you really be pissed off that a ***** white manager and you, as a ***** black manager didn't, or would you just think "good luck to him"?

***** managers shouldn't be getting jobs regardless, whether they're black, white, Asian, female, gay or in IS.

If I'd have wrote exactly what you wrote it would have been seen as racism, because of who wrote it.

But that is my point. I don't know how many black applicants there are as a proportion of the overall figure but the reason we hear for them not getting jobs is that the likes Ince, Barnes, etc, are *****. Well yes they are but so are the likes of Saunders. I'm not backing this proposal, far from it, but I can understand why the recruitment process does look a little unfair.

    Positive Discrimination

Is not new to this country and neither is Guaranteed Interviews for certain members of society such as the disabled, so I don't see why there seems to be an element of surprise. I agree of course, that the successful candidate should be chosen on merit.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.
    Home Page:
Don't agree with it, but if you look at the number of black players and then the number of black managers, there's a discrepancy. People may say "but Ince/Barnes were crap" and so on, but the fact that these are reeled out as an argument every time this comes up shows just how few black managers there have been and how little chance they're given.

Football remains an inherently racist game at every level.

    Re: Positive Discrimination

It can't happen due to it stinking of double standards, which means it probably will, when the FA wanted to bring in minimum number of English players in each premier league squad rule, to try and generate more players for the national team, they were told this wasn't aloud, due to it generating jobs just for English people, this discriminating against others, if all short lists have to have someone of whom I'm not sure what the politically correct term is this week , on the list because of skin colour, is this not knocking someone else of the list just because he doesn't have the right skin colour ?
