Last Saturday I called in the Hotspot Lounge (Japanese Whispers). Two local lads have bought it and they've made a good job of smartening the place up.£2 a pint of John Smiths, very nice inside, they'll play any music you like and they've got some good plans for the place. They're hoping to eventually open at 7am as a day time coffee/snack bar then a pub as the day goes on to serving into the early hours at the weekend.Very soon they have entertainment booked in Here's Johnny and Alexanders Palace to start with.I just thought I'd mention the place because it seems like a decent alternative to the other bars in town.
glad its back in use but where the hell do they get the names from? "the hotspot lounge" coming at ya right outta the 80's!
Visions thats it. Was indeed crap. Whispers the over to K2 for a kebab than down to taxi rank n home.
Got handed a flyer last night for there by a girl called Jess. She sold the place well and you can't complain at two quid a pint. Hope it does well.
JSS - super drink. all you real buffs make me laugh......you won't drink the Jss but you'll drink any old muck as long as someone calls it 'real ale'......! hth
"A decent alternative to other places in town" that is serving the same old slop available in most other places in town!
Perhaps we should all **** off to number seven where unless ypu get there early or get lucky have the privilege of standing up while some self pretentious real ale buffoon rams you the way so he can sample next acorn home brew at £3.50 a pint. And it stinks. Id rather drink slop watching a decent band than sit in a pub full of snobs.
