I'm only back for a flying visit, I'll be in England for 10 days including 6 days in Barnsley. I've heard of a few things I want to see, the museum at the town hall, the new record shop in the arcade and a Friday 'Burn Down' at Opium. Is there anything else new I should try and fit in? Any new things to see, any new pubs etc.

I'm keen on a couple of midweek nights in town, does anything happen on Wednesday's or Thursday's like back in the day?

It's been a bloody long time to have been away so I can't wait to see the place and most of all I can't wait to see my family and friends.

If you've not been to a "greggs" restaurant before then I can strongly recommend that you try one in town. Come to think of it I'm sure there's more than 1.
The poundland boutiques dotted around town are also worth a visit as are the many bric a brac shops.

The world famous 'wind tunnel' attraction outside the glasshouse bar is well worth a visit. It recently entered the record books as the windiest place on earth.

Would that be the plinth that's not been there for about 6 months?

For DJ FB, The Grill Pit restaurant opposite the Town Hall (in what was Yate's), and not sure if it was within the last 4 years or before, but Old No. 7 is the Acorn brewery tap

The Grill Pit isn't much cop from what practically every one of my mates who have been have said. The 8oz Burger Company however is bang on! Another vote for Old No. 7 from me as well.

I'm glad most of you lot don't work for the Tourism Board!

No.7 is a good shout, I've heard good things about it.

PS. I thought my mate Kipper had passed away.
