    To be fair, he's about the 40th player they've been linked with since the season ended. Although I don't think they'll finish above 8th, I'd love to see what the betting would be for them to finish above the likes of Millwall or Wigan. Reckon it'd be a good bet.

    Be a good signing. Him and Leon Clarke up front for a side that have just won promotion is exciting for their fans. Definitely got goals in them

    Leon Clarke, Tom Pope and Peter Clarke all on free transfers. People will say we don't want these type of players at Oakwell but I would have had all three. They've done brilliantly so far in the transfer window

    Is that possible in this league? Clubs can only spend a % of revenue on wages, loans to the club don't count as revenue.

    They can only spend 60% of revenue (no loans) on wages under SCMP rules. Transfer fees may be different.

    I am only telling you where he gets his money from. The club as a whole are mortgaged through the roof !
    I suspect it is like the set up the Glaziers used at Man Utd.

    Anything given to the club as a donation or gift doesn't count within the 60%, which is how Patrick got around giving us funds over the last two seasons.

    Now, whether the Bury guy classes them as gifts but somewhere in small print he makes some form of guarantee to pay the donation back, I don't know (complete guess). But you're right, they can't spend more than 60% of their revenue.

    The rules in the PL are entirely different. Not sure a L1/2 side could comply with the rules if they're following the same set up as utd.

    How do you know so much about burys finances? Are you secretly best mates with flicker?
