Changing tonight to unreserved seating was an absolute joke! Walking to our seats I could see six empty. Given there were 5 of us, no problems I thought. Turns out only four our ours were empty. Asked the guy occupying one of ours to move, his reply "it's unreserved seating". I took up one of the spare seats until two lads came to claim these, trying again with the guy in our seats I suggested it would be easier for him to find a single 'unreserved' seat rather than relocate 5 people wanting to sit together. He still wasn't budging so I then brought this to the attention of a steward. I told the steward the situation and he too confirmed it was unreserved seating. I asked him to find me 5 seats together, which he couldn't. He then suggested he would bring it up with his supervisor but remained in his position and made no attempt to contact anyone. I asked how he intended to sumon his supervisor like that to which he replied I can't leave my post. I asked him what the purpose of him being there was. His reply was amazing - "To direct people to their seats when they come up the gangway". Brilliant! You couldn't write it. Overall a good night spoilt by the absolute shambles of trying to organise a game of football. Oh and the number of people moaning near me about the lack of refreshments by half time was embarrassing.
^^^^^^^ this I've had my say on the catering bit. BUT me n Juddy G let our kids up before us to find our ticket seats and we'd join them. We did...... but then the Steward told us it was unreserved seating?!?' we found them eventually.
It was unreserved seating ? I never knew. We'd been allocated real **** view seats on row A. Cos they'd increased the size of the advertising hoardings you couldn't see the pitch. Ended up having to move just b4 kick off when we were sure everyone had got to their seats. This was our view from (adult) eye level. http://s8.postimg.org/vie0e18o5/image.jpg Row a was also full of kids that had been given complimentary tickets via their primary school. Small 10 year old kids who when seated could just see the tops of the flood lights.
What stand were you in? All around me in and me included in the east stand lower didn't appear to know it was unreserved as all were checking their tickets re the seats
East lower, back row on the half way line. Couldn't get our season ticket seats so got as close as we could. There were queues of people wanting the stewards to sort out problems. Everyone was told to find a seat where ever they could.
I wasn't aware it was unreserved seating. Didn't say it on my tickets, ending up moving someone out of our seats who had complimentary tickets. They were told they could sit where they wanted, they moved but then had to move again when others turned up. Sent from my SM-G800F using Tapatalk
Probably for the best if we don't have any future England games. We just look shabby and unprofessional with all the easily avoidable problems that most professional companies wouldn't have in the first place. With free/cheap tickets we can't make much if anything from hosting it anyway to have to put up with the bad feedback that granted they bring on themselves. Unreserved seating in a busy stand is a shocking idea. What is up with sitting where your seat says so you don't have this issue for amateur stewards to deal with I don't know.
I had no idea it was unreserved. I didn't get there until 20 past so I was relieved that it was delayed. We almost just went home at 8pm as I was certain the box office and the car park would have shut on the dot and we had to collect our tickets. Went to get some pop at half time and had to just have a cup of tap water as they weren't selling anything other than tea, coffee and Bovril.
