I am willing to help the club out here. I intend to supply a full seasons supply of sausages for hot dogs... Pack of 8 should be enough, shouldn't it?
I doubt it. The FA rented the ground, lindleys probably still had the catering and the shop was closed as it was being refitted from just sports Not a lot to say really.
It would show some good will. Barry Taylor wanted 15k, our club got 15k and the fans who went were treated to Amateur Hour and might not come back next time.
Had a meeting today with some London types who watched it on BTSport said what a grand old ground we had and how well it looked. Didn't say owt to change their minds.
why should he make a statement ??? The FA chose to use Oakwell. It should be up to them to have researched all the angles to make it a great evening.....not BFC. Its that simple.
My missus texted me to say it looked really good on the telly. I don't think she was used to seeing so many fans in the ground!
It did look good, from the tv angles (except when you saw the empty West Stand). It would be marvelous if we could get between 15 and 20,000 for every home game but I think we are some way off that. I hate seeing swathes of empty seats but this is where we are. Mind you the club will have to buck their ideas up facilities-wise if we are to get bigger crowds in. I'm with the "couldn't care less about the pies and beer stocks running out" brigade but I know that plenty of people do like to go down below and refuel, even while the game is going on. Don't understand that myself, but we can't all be the same! The ground though really IS something to smile about when you see it on the tv and it's as full as it was last night. It's quite a setup, all round. Now if we could just get the admin right, and a winning team on the pitch......
Exactly what I said. It's the little things that keep tripping us up and we just don't see to be able to put them right.
Re: the embarrasment should not be BFC's Was it down to the FA to order the correct amount of catering , was it their decision not to open the top bar in the Eaststand causing massive queues , decide when everyone was finding their seats to suddenly make it unreserved seating when the Ponty and Eaststand were practically sold out.Was it the FAs fault not to advise all these people who'd probably never been to a game before to arrive early as a big crowd was expected to arrive in plenty of time and have extra stewards marshalling the car park.
Listen to the opinions of outsiders and those on here is like lightness and dark. We aren't perfect, far from it, but we staged the game it looked great, there was a fantastic attendance maybe we should just celebrate that rather than the lack of Watneys in the pie shop.
You're forgetting one massive point. Those who watched it on TV weren't there. Which matters most? The opinion of a bloke from Cornwall who watched the game on TV and said the ground looked nice or the opinion of the family who have (from what I could work out) just moved to Doncaster and were attending their first local game only to find themselves sharing a plastic cup full of tap water?
