Instantly despising someone because of the football team they play for/support/whatever, is a little bit strange.

Who ever he signs for will play him no-one will pay over 30 million for a proven premier league player and not play him

He'd be more ideal for Arsenal.

Fantastic news. They'll pay top dollar for him (so big money on our clause ) he'll definitely sign, and it's a great move for the lad.

It's his dream move. He can be a united legend, stay there 15 years, get em back to winning everything. Everton? Lol.

Signed a 5 year contract before the season started. Highly doubt he'd do that

He's ideal for Arsenal's style of football, but I agree, Wenger seems to like Mertesacker. A move to Man Utd would be great for him, and hopefully for us.

Not sure about £30 million, but they've both signed enough players for around £20 million, given them little opportunity and kind of stagnated their careers (obviously not in a financial sense). The difference between £20 - 30 million is f*ck all to clubs like them, so I agree with what archey is saying.

I find it completely weird, that any adult hates a football team. It's a football team.

Fu'cking hell fire, looking at barrel you're scrapping to get enough teams for a 14 fold, I'm surprised you've not been out collecting spiders this evening

Admittedly, I didn't notice the 'proven Premier League' part but they're both capable of paying big money and not giving them much of an opportunity. Juan Cuadrado, Yuri Zhirkov, Romelu Lukaku, Stevan Jovetic, Wilfried Bony, Alvaro Negredo have all moved for big money and not been given much of a chance. Granted that Bony and Cuadrado have only recently moved.

Man City signed Jack Rodwell, purely because he was young and British. He got little opportunity, despite coming in highly rated and probably playing more Premier League than Stones has now. That poor b*stard is at Sunderland now.
