Re: dependant on who the other two are Netflix is worldwide, and in 40% of homes in America. the Netflix show will be much larger (and will have a much bigger budget). UK Top Gear is huge over there, too.
Re: dependant on who the other two are Clarkson is an oafish **** and a bully the sort you could never tire of hitting.
Re: dependant on who the other two are TFI, Big Breakfast, Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, everything (including radio) Evans turns his hand to is quality IMHO Never been a Top Gear fan tbh but I'll watch it now he's running it.
Re: dependant on who the other two are Jason Plato would be good. Was on TFI the other night with Evans so could be a possibility although I'm not sure if he still does FifthGear.
Re: dependant on who the other two are Fair point but the BBC won't let them call it Top Gear and will still sell the show worldwide
Re: dependant on who the other two are Now with Alan Partridge on the show that WOULD be worth watching
Plato comes across as an arrogant prat in his post race interviews in the Touring Cars. Never his fault when he loses; reckons he's got the best car in the world when he wins but implies others are cheating when he loses. This is the reason I don't ever watch fifth gear. I am inclined to agree - I am not a great fan of Chris Evans - I can see why the BBC have turned to him and at least Hammond and May recognised the show couldnt just run on with a new clarkson and have turned down contracts to carry on It will be a whole new show and it has to be some people will like it others wont - probably me included though I will give it it a try. Be interested to see who else is on the team - and what they keep from the old format - Start in a reasonably priced car should stay but it would be daft to try and recreate the epic challenges the 3 old presenters did Much as I like Suzi Perry and Jason Plato rumoured above- just putting them in with Evans is probably a bad idea - Clarkson got his own team and none were people predicted at the time - Evans has to do the same it would be good to have some less predicable candidates. Little aside Clarkson was told to have a female presenter as the female audience would not grow without one - he sensibly ignored and went with the team he thought would work - Evans has to do the same. Not saying he shouldnt have a woman - Lee McKenzie would be good - but it cant be a token one!
He's a great character with controversial/marketable opinions. You're just taking him the wrong way - his comments are often made very tongue in cheek.
So he's a welder for top gear then, I get it now, to replace the stig I guess, Evans the welder from Swansea
