At the right price he has got to be worth re-signing.

Wouldn't have him as captain though. Some continuity has to be good, but we need a midfielder driving us forward i.e. Scowen as captain in my opinion

We won't be able to sign anyone better though I can't say I'm bothered either way.

That's kinda what my heart says Jimmy, but my head says if we are gonna run for promotion in the next 2 seasons a balance of experience & youth is the key & there has been too much turnover in recent years.

Cranie is capable of playing passing football. He ain't a leader & he has a bunch of bad seasons behind him with us & coventry.

    At the right price.

On L1 mid table wages, definitely have him back. I don't believe he's a good enough 'defender' in the division above, but up there and down here he's as good as any on the ball and so if he returned but on money more in line with his and our current status, brilliant. But as JC suggests above, can't say I'm arsed or owt and definitely think in Holgate we've got a similar centre half coming through.

Not for me. Not a leader. A bit Paddy Mccourt for me all tricks and the tools to do the job but doesn't apply himself consistently. Saying that he had two great games last season at Right back. But not a consistent performer, or dominant, or influential as he could or should be.

IMHO big chunk off the wage bill that may open up new opportuntites to strengthen.

    Thanks Martin and good luck.

Given how disinterested he looked for us at times, I can't see how playing for us for half his previous wages would be likely to work out well.

I'd rather we didn't sign him.

He's been a constant in our woeful defensive record in recent seasons.

And yes, yes, I know we had six clean sheets in a row, which was excellent. But over the course of his tenure with us, we were crap defensively.
