Good call...the amount of stick he got was unbelievable. Tad surprised you weren't on of em though...
Nicky Eaden would be my hands down winner. A truly great player for us who was slagged off by the vocal idiot minority. Honourable mentions to Brendan O'Connell, Dave Watson, Owen Archdeacon and Mark Robinson.
It's a great shout actually. But I'm sticking with O'Connell. I still talk to reds fans who think he was toss, whereas I don't know a reds fan who thinks Eaden was ****, which is funny considering I heard "tha *****, Eaden!" every home game incessantly, even when he'd done summat perfectly reight.
Got **** loads of stick initially along with Eaden. "Too Small". "**** at crosses". "Can't catch". The usual dribble. It's only in the Oakwellian rewriting of History that those who did the slagging off edit it out.
I'd say that Agnew was well appreciated by the vast majority, especially after moving into midfield. Can't recall Hayes getting too much unfair criticism...
Totally agree with the Nicky Eaden shout he was a very very good player. Always put a shift in and had a great cross too. Met him on more than one occasion and can honestly say he was a very honest, down to earth humble sorta guy...top bloke IMHO.
It's one of those annoying as **** things that the hipsters say on twitter etc, 24/7. I'm using it ironically.
