Martin Devaney was a good player for us. I remember Bradford away the year we went up, I thought George Best had signed for us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As Whitey alluded to a golden spell goal hanging in the six yard box, Christ knows how many times he was caught offside whilst we were in excellent positions. Could count the number of tackles he made on one finger and if he could be arsed to track back anywhere near the centre circle the ball came off him to the oppo so many times that away fans voted him their best midfielder. Surprised you've not contributed a player or ten, I'd have thought a thread like this would be porn to you...
Nyatanga was massively overrated last season IMO. So many forgotten mistakes. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
He was our best defender, and I think the most consistent player over the season. There's not much else to say, so I don't see how you could say he was overrated. Next you'll be telling me M'Voto was underrated...
Is that the same Hungary who produced Puskas? Runners up in two World Cups and third in a Euros? Hungarian clubs have reached finals in European competition too. I know what you're saying, that both nations are not up to much, but ******* Malta?
Taggart was a fantastic player for us especially if he managed to avoid getting too pissed on Friday night.
He liked a drink, aye. But you're having a giggle if you think he wasn't a cracking player, at the top level n all.
I might be being a touch provocative, but I grew up watching May, Futcher, Evans, etc., and they all had a bit of class about them. Taggart was effective and had mass-appeal probably because he could hold his beer but I never saw much of a footballer in him.
That's all fair comment. Get what you're saying. But his career speaks for itself. My second favourite centre half, after Steve Davis.
Taggart was an international and played in the top flight for a large part of his career, playing in cup finals too.
