Paul Futcher at the time. Quite rightly he's now regarded as one of the best centre halves we've had.

Definitely Stephen Foster. Quality player who some (not all) didn't rate. I could never work out why not.

You liked Biggins, but not Dyer ?

I am sure there is some logic in that but it escapes me totally !

Don't try to find logic in some of Whitey's ramblings or you'll go insane.

Oh and I'll add Nicky Eaden to the list; a fantastic full back and local lad who got dogs abuse by some.

I never said I don't like Dyer. I said he'd not be in my list of top ten strikers I've seen for us. I think I've OTT'd that to be fair, but he's certainly not top 5. But course I liked him, and he scored more than any other I've watched (longevity). But I don't think he was as good as others obviously do. But it's an opinions thread innit. I'm baffled that somebody said Taggart was overrated. But he gave his reasons, and he was fair enough in doing so, I could see his point.

I'd have O'Connell in my all time XI. Doesn't mean owt. Just my opinion.

And aye, I liked Biggins. But then, I loved Dagnall n Sheron n all. To be fair, you've to be really **** at football or a lazy basterd for me not to like you. I'm easily pleased.
