I'm not sure if it's LJ or someone else at the club but really don't see how they could have a problem with a legends XI playing. Not like if they get injured it's going to hamper the team when the season starts. Really odd and a whole year later than it should be doesn't bode well I fear
Bobby said that the club offered him a legends game, but he turned it down because he thought more people would come to this format.
Maybe just maybe one day the inner politics of the club will be laid bare for all to see. Until that day comes we will just have to wait and see, and take every thing with a pinch of salt and yet accept what is said and claimed to be the truthfull official line , even though many smell a rat .......just hope bobby has a great belated send off
.................Hahahahaha.............LOL For those that put Bobby on a pedestal..........now is your time to shine !!! I honestly cannot see any difference between Bobby and a few dozen other Barnsley players that have been a fantastic servant to Barnsley Football Club. But for some unknown reason Bobby has been picked out of that bunch by a certain group of fans. So for those that held Bobby in high esteem...............then regarding the predicted low turn out ................it just shows that when it comes to loyalty its not just the players that are fickle and soon forget.....................the fans do too. So good luck for the future Bobby. But I'll not be there.
Or maybe Hassell is telling the truth, he chose Mansfield and he chose to play with the current squad. Lucky if theres 4k there
Many peoples first chance to see the new players (Roberts and Watkins plus trialists so far) in the new strip, hot day hopefully, only a tenner/fiver in and a chance to say goodbye to a genuine club stalwart, and to me, club legend. If others dunt turn up, for whatever reason, their lookout. I'll be there. You Reds.
Didn't he make it known in public that he wanted Celtic? Even as his former club I find it hard to believe when he's raising money for charity that he wouldn't want a better level of opposition so more come out to watch. It's a disgrace and shambles we've not allowed him to play with former team mates. Unreserved seating with one stand open. Hope there are enough bottles of pop, crisps etc to sell
He did yes, it was at the lamproom I was there. Also pretty sure he's suggested he would have liked to play with the promotion squad although I can't quite recall where I heard or read that...
Bobby's statement last summer: http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/statement-from-bobby-hassell-27062014-1695617.aspx Committee statement this summer: http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/bobby-hassell-testimonial-date-confirmed-2481120.aspx We can all try and guess what's happened, there's obviously more to it than meets the eye. However, it's done now and Bobby seems happy in his interview on Barnsley Player so I'm looking forward to saying goodbye on the 18th July.
