Hopefully he was more impressed with us. Can't be arsed with another summer of missing out on first choice transfer targets.

Maybe he's just got confused with us having identical kits

Of course we are going to miss out on a shed load of transfer targets. That always happens, and it happens at every club.

But on the other hand we are going to be successful in other areas of the search for players and bring some good players in.

Trying to sell the club to a player on a tour of oakwell must be the hardest job in professional football.

Why is it full of weeds round the edge of the pitch?
Erm we prefer to call it a wild garden than weeds.
*looks up at scoreboard* oh great you've got one of those video boards. Do you show replays?
No but we do play a giant version of wheel of fortune every week. The announcer reads out some random letters in phonetic, we randomly put them on the board and the fans guess what its supposed to say.
    Are they wooden seats?
    Its a listed building. Honest
And that stand over there with the breeze block showing. Is it still being built? When is it likely to be finished?
    1993
Do you have the directions to Rotherham please?

Aye, am sure Alfie Mawson et al will be turning up at Oakwell, from clubs such as Brentford and Wycombe and thinking our ground is a **** hole. I know we love to take the piss out of ourselves but I would imagine that only Sheffield United can match what we have on offer here in terms of facilities, and ours are all on one site.

If you're talking about the training ground then yes I agree. But turn around and step into the stadium itself and **** me its bad

It's bad? Like Whitey says, in comparison to Brentford and Wycombe it really isn't.

Also, if you think a player is using the amount of weeds around the ground as a factor in moving/not moving, then you're ******* deluded.

Re: not a chance of us signing him

    Are you kidding?

If anything is likely to sell BFC to a player, it's the set up. A training ground with those (very good) facilities, right next to the stadium. Have you seen the places where Rotherham and Sheff Utd and Sheffield Wednesday train? Not a patch on Oakwell.

And I'm sure all pro footballers obsess about a score board.

    Anyway, who's Alfie Mawson?

In comparison to which clubs? None that any of our prospective players might also be speaking to.

Oakwell was the second most visited stadium in our last season in the Championship and was the second most visited in L1 last season. If you read the websites that focus on away days, Oakwell is highly rated and called "a proper football stadium".

I assume you prefer Donny's flatpack setup?

    Yep.

Facilities will come into it, but pretty low down the priority list. Wages, length of contract, location to current home/family, and whether he buys into the managers ethos will have an impact on his decision. The state of our scoreboard? Probably not.

in your opinion Oakwell is a shithole....

well there are far far worse grounds than Oakwell.... Swindon Town being one of them. Have you ever been to Luton's ground or Oxfords??? And Yes I would like to see the west stand be listed but totally renovated. Its called character ... just like the Cottage at Fulham's ground. Of the 92 clubs in the top 4 tiers we are by no means the worst ... not even in the bottom half of them.... there are many grounds in the top 2 tiers that are total toilets.

If Mark Cooper goes to S6 it may put Swindon out of the running.

It's been mentioned on here too. Hopefully it's true. Sounds like he'd be a good addition.
