Re: Josh Scowen a factor if it is true? Both played at Wycombe last season, so that maybe swung it our way .... if it is true, that is. Good at any rate if Johnson has another of his targets in the bag. Who will be next in?
A few weeks ago you said there was no point in us getting excited about new players because they'll be ****, and if they're not **** they'll leave anyway. Then you've constantly posted about how bad we are at recruitment, that we should be getting new players in asap etc. Only when we do sign players, you then complain about us not being able to keep em and so on and so on. I can see why folk are calling you negative and a moaner. It seems whatever happens, you'll find the negative. Your prerogative, dunt bother me like. But surely you can see why folk are having a go? Again.
According to Wiki: Mawson swept the board at Wanderers' end-of-season awards ceremony, winning the Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year awards, in addition to the Official Wycombe Wanderers Supporters Association's Player, Young Player and Away Travel Player of the Year awards.[43] He also won the Wycombe Wanderers Independent Supporters' Club Player of the Yea award.[44] He finished third in the running for the League Two Player of the Year award. He joined Wycombe on a youth loan at the start of last season and played nearly every game. Must be a Scowen factor in this, if he is considering coming to us. Looks like a good acquisition, IF we get him. Might even be able to allow Holgate to go to Arsenal for £10 million
I think it's a excellent signing, if he's as good as what Scowen is and WWFC fans seem think he is, he's exactly the type of player we should be signing, I'd love us to sign him, theirs nothing better then watching really good players, but also you have to be realistic, don't start getting carried away thinking we're building a squad capable of winning the league because if come January we're challenging at the top of the league we'll lose one or two players and it'll knock the stuffing out of us, the last time we had a decent team was the Butterfield, Drinkwater, Vaz Te, side, look what happened with that, it's the way football is these days it's all about balancing the books I understand that I accept that and that's that. But I'm not going to pretend different.
Unfortunately that's the way of most football clubs, it doesn't matter who you are, Liverpool had to concede defeat in trying to keep hold of Suarez, We will always find it impossible to keep our better players if a bigger club comes in, Wycombe have had to concede defeat in losing one of their best players, it's just how things are but I'm not going to start worrying about a player we haven't even signed yet,
I'm not worrying, I'm just keeping my feet on the ground, people on here want us to sign players so that we can gain promotion, and they'll be disappointed if we fail to be promoted, not me I want us to sign players so I can enjoy watching them, the better they are the more I'll enjoy them, thinking we're signing players to achieve promotion is stupidity, we're signing players to develop them and and sell them on to keep the club ticking over, I know this you know this and when others start to think otherwise I'll point out to them that they're wrong what's the problem in that ?
I don't know this mate, perhaps I'm been naive but I'll continue to believe that we go into each season trying to achieve promotion and the minute I stop believing that then that will be the time I stop supporting us.
