The only thing that puts me off America is the Americans.

My stepdaughters boyfriends mum and partner are in the hotel adjacent to it.

They were on the beach at the time and thought it was firecrackers for a party going off. They were ushered off the beach and into their rooms but thankfully they are ok but pity the poor souls who are not.

Bloody hell. Close call. Feel so sorry for those enjoying a holiday and gunned down by a lunatic.

About time the whole world got together and sorted this mess out. Religious fanaticism of any kind needs eradicating. Christian, Muslim or any other way they want to package their hatred.

Sadly it's protected and you can't tell somebody how bloody stupid are for believing in it all. If you want to believe that some divine being created the universe then fine, but let's not pretend that any of the holy books are anything other than nonsense. But again, you can't say that. Sorry.

So many people are religious and use it for a good purpose - let's not confuse them with the few nutters.

The guy in Charlestown wasn't religious, just a crazy person as most of these people are. Religion is not the problem here

Religion is the cause of most of the hatred in the world.

My God's better than your god.

Don't care how cheap the deal would be, you couldn't pay me to holiday in a muslim country. Bigoted? Possibly. Just the way it is.

As opposed to those of us who do good just because it's the right thing to do.

You have bloggers sentenced to 1000 lashes in Saudi Arabia, teenage girls kidnapped in Nigeria, shopping centre massacres in Kenya, cartoonists killed in France, hostages taken in Australia and ISIS across the Middle East. If your religion can be so misinterpreted that all those things happen within 12 months there is something bloody wrong with it.

Yes he was. He was a member of a different church and was arguing about religious scriptures in church before he opened fire.

I'd say it'd be safer out there on 1st July than it was on 1st June. What are the chances of it happening again in the same place?

Also security will hopefully be ramped right up now. I'd still go.

Dropping bombs that kill innocent Muslim civilians is also terrorism. Not that I condone anyone retaliating like this.

I have nothing but sympathy for the innocent people affected by this latest terrorist attack.

Very difficult to see how this ISIS can be stopped, considering they're seemingly all over the world. Which might be a good thing, as it stops us and the Americans invading another country and only making the matter even worse. Again.

It's to be hoped ISIS don't get their hands on chemical or nuclear weapons...

Not an area/country i'd have felt safe in or near to even before what happened yesterday. Gobsmacked some tourist won't take the help offered to them to get out of there and actually want to stay.

It might seem a little strange but it is exactly what is needed. People are saying '**** you' to the terrorists. What is the aim of a terrorist? To scare people, to terrorise them. How do they win? By scaring and terrorising people. How are their cowardly acts shown to be pointless? By not being scared. By saying '**** you', not giving them exactly what they want and carrying on as normal.

Imagine being somebody who has devoted their life to scaring people into doing what you want. Imagine that you have just sent your mate out to blow himself up and it achieved **** all because people weren't scared and just carried on. The next day you send your brother out and he blows himself up trying to strike fear. Again nothing. Everyone carries on as usual. When you have tried every day for a year and got absolutely nowhere and nobody is scared of you at all you must begin to feel a bit dejected. You know the ONLY way you can win isnto scare everyone into doing what you want but nothing you try is working. THAT is the only way to defeat terrorists and those who are saying '**** you' and showing they aren't even scared enough to forego a week on a beach then I say well done

I still can't get my head around there been around 20,000 Brits over there on holiday.

To quote Nigel Pearson are these people Ostriches? Heads in the sand or what? There was a terrorist attack there two months ago & Isis threatened to attack again this summer. On top of that it shares a border with Libya where Isis are at war & theres **** all border control between the two countries.

    Crazy decision to go there.

Obviously RIP to all the victims but it's not a risk I'd take. Surely it's better to lose your holiday than put your life at risk for a week or two of sun

Top post and I agree 100% with the sentiment.

It is still not a country I would have visited in the first place though.

Went to Tunisia in Oct last year - absolutely devastating to see this - the county is fairly poor but the people are lovely. They have had their futures ruined by these events - no one is going to visit the county anymore, which is a real shame because its a beautiful place.

Funnily enough, I was in the barbers last week and the bloke getting his hair cut was chatting to the barber, saying that he was getting his haircut ready for his holiday in Tunisia the following day. My first thought was, in the current climate, why on earth would anyone want to go there? Would you really feel relaxed wandering around? Then a couple of days later what happened, happened.
