Sod the boiling temperature...You know summer's really here when you get the first post linking us with Jon Stead...
Wage demands prevented him joining Bradford permanently. I'd be surprised if he's on our radar. However, I'd take him here if only because it stops him scoring winners against us. He absolutely bossed Martin Cranie last season, guarantees you goals/assists. But knocking on now and seemingly pricey in terms of a salary. Chesterfield favourites apparently.
All down to money I agree , but I briefly spoke to him last season in my work place and he said he'd always wanted to play for Barnsley.... Nice guy to talk to .. Loads of time for us fans/
It's a difficult one for me, and would only be accepted if the money is right. But everytime he plays against us, he looks a world beater. I work with a few Bradford fans who say he's not much kop. That being said, if we're after a target man, I'd rather pay the money for someone who's got a recent, proven track record like Stead, than blow the budget on an unproven lad like Wilkinson from Bolton. At Bradford last seaon I said to my missus that he always scores against us...roughly 28 seconds before he scored against us! He'd be a great signing.
Always good against us. And put in as good a target man performance as your ever likely to see against Chelsea. I'd take him, but wouldn't want us pushing the boat out for him.
On the subject of Bradford target men I would love us to sign Hanson. Incredibly strong and he's arguably the best at winning headers outside the premiership. Hanson and Winnall would probably be just as lethal as Hanson and Wells.
@TheValleyParade: Jon Stead set to sign for Barnsley, whilst Gary MacKenzie has signed for Doncaster Rovers. #bcafc #drfc
Wouldn't be against him signing personally but don't think he fits in with the clubs new recruitment philosophy
