Even when he was 'good', he was hopeless. With his lack of pace at the age of 976, he'll be slowpless.
Anybody remember when he did this? The game before they beat us 4-1 at The Dell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjkR91QEjFg
Decent player in his day if you played to his strengths, he was good for Allardyce at Bolton. He's committed most fouls and got most yellow cards in PL history, speaks volumes for a striker to have those records. Plus he's over the hill by a good few years. IMO of course.
He's a dirty bleeder, no doubt about it, but that's the kind of player I'd like to see paired with Winnall. He may well be past it, I dunno, he went off my radar when he moved out of the Prem.
He was a useful player & if he's got anything left I'd take him for a year but I've not seen enough of him recently to know what's left
He's getting on but always been a good pro i'd not be unhappy if we offered a 1year deal. Played 70 games in past 2 seasons for PNE. Influential but his goal dried up at PNE. Even with consistent goal scoring record in the premier league he still had many critics. Big, physical, influential and experienced 750+ professional games under his belt and approx 134 goals scored.
No thanks. Bit part player for PNE last season and i'd rather we signed players who can play 90 minutes week in week out. He's too old for that now so Preston treated him more sporodically.
For those saying he was a bit part player at Preston & that's why you wouldn't want him it's worth remembering they had Beckford & Garner up front. Sam Winnall would've been a bit part player at Preston last season
