Be practising shooting if your a centre half? Mawson was doing shooting drills this morning, maybe he isnt going to be played at centre half and instead centre mid? He also only missed the target once and that was volley, looks great

I once smoked Gauloises but it didn't mean I was Alain Delon.

I once sucked a man off in the West Stand bogs but it didn't mean I was Whitey.

well Dion Dublin comes to mind here

he was mainly a centre forward, but was more than comfortable (and good too) at centre half. Chris Morgan started life as a youth player at centre forward, but played most of his carer at centre half. So no its not beyond the realms of fantasy. I always thought Odejayi could have made a decent centre half

Did Jon Parkin start off as a defender as well?

No, he was a striker through the 'youth' set up, but he played as an emergency centre half a couple of times in the first team when he was 18/19 year old

Mawson gets forward very well. He scored a great goal against Luton on tele last season

From what I've seen of him he does get forward for a cb so maybe he will like to have a go at goal.

What kind of drills were they? Long distance? In the box?

you know those small cones? About 30 or 40 of those piled up, payers had to dribble around them then shoot at goal, id say just inside the box from where they were shooting. His goal at Luton was immense, wonder if he'll try it for us

I honestly think the reason he chose us was because Johnson as told him he wants to turn him into and holding midfielder.

Roberts was doing the shooting drills as well as was the fitness coach. I wouldn't look to much into that at all.

Omar was hitting the volleys better than anyone else.

What did you think of him? I thought he would do well when in space, looked a bit lost in the small tight drills. Tell me next time you're going down, i'll see if i can get down aswell

And more famously there was Chris Sutton.

And Paul Warhurst. I doubt it if anyone could hold a candle up to John Charles though.

Omar looked decent when shooting but like you say how positional sense and quick thinking wasn't quite their in the drills.

I'll let you know mate I'm rarely down though has to be a sunny day and when I'm on afters.

Lad from Scotland looked sharp though in the tight drills. Didn't take part in the shooting drills. Vigurs??
