This must be the ultimate in disgusting behaviour when he condemns a minutes silence for the dead. I would urge everyone in the UK to not support this very stupid person in any financial way, he crossed the line by a big way this time.
Or everyone ignoring his point? ‘Does that one minute silence mean anything or is it an empty and futile gesture and part of a general policy of bulls*** so that our government can continue selling arms around the world perpetuating a cycle where its own needs are met at the expense of its own citizens’ lives' ‘There is no point having this minute’s silence on Friday, it is a minute of bulls***. ‘If you respect those people then demand your government stops selling arms to countries on its own human rights abuse list. ‘Demand your country stops carrying out foreign wars on behalf of corporations. It will have a lot more impact than one minute’s silence'
ooooooh. there's been some bad shootings going on. and no mistake. shooty wooty is bad, cor blimey. but i think it's really bad and downright godawful m'lud, when they do things like minutes silence and that. i don't think they should do them any more. it's got me in a right old pickle, it has. my liege.
So there are more disgusting people that can't respect the death of inoccent people. I'm shocked. This is not political for gods sake, it's about respect. Wake up and get real.
what the fk does it hurt to have a minutes silence it shows sympathy and to the families of the survivors and god knows they need every bit of comfort they can get. The guys a complete **** IMHO time will tell which of us is right.
He isn't saying that though is he. He's having a pop at all the people who have vested interests in perpetuating the problem leading a minutes silence
well he's querying the sincerity of it for a start, which is hardly helpful is it? Rather polish his ego rather than think about peoples (victims) feelings
Someone needs to tell him that if he really wants to effect change there are ways to go about it. Stand for election, form a party. Do something more proactive than just endlessly gobshiting about it on YouTube for advertising revenue. He preaches revolution but does **** all to make anything actually happen. All talk and no trews.
Can't believe people from my home town support this ass hole who has probably made all the relatives of the poor souls that died on that beach for no reason other than a mad man wielding a ak47 in the cause of what? Is Brand therefore in support of the murders? If one of yours were killed in that carnage I wonder if you would be saying these vile things right now. Let's remember the dead and not do the Brand idiotic and unfeeling thing. He is and has always been a complete and utter idiot, so let's get that straight
I didn't make it clear but that wasn't meant to be having a go at him over the minute's silence in particular, just in general.
Are we selling Russian machine guns now? Kalashnikov was the weapon of choice. Russell Brand is a shallow, indulgent, self agrandising celebrity, good luck defending him.
It's only obvious to those who want to believe everything he says. What he is doing is trying to politicise something that is still far to raw to be hung out to dry in the usual self serving Brand way. On this occasion he really should have kept his mouth shut.
Clearly there are grave underlying foreign policy issues that need to be addressed in the 'West', but if true then it strikes me as nothing short of opportunist publicity making of the lowest order by Brand. There are ways of making a point and I find his point-making deeply offensive on this occasion.
