Why did Aleesha Dixon just sing the national anthem in an American accent?

I'm a huge lover of F1 but I've switched off most races this season through boredom. Hope today grabs me.

Agreed. I've been bored stiff watching most races this year and also agree about Dixon. She was an awgul choice for the job as her voice isn't strong enough at the best of times and when she did her fake American accent (which she seems to think is her faux powerful voice) she murdered the anthem completely.

Me and my other half are here at Silverstone today and everyone in the stand started laughing when they announced she was to sing the national anthem. And it was ****

When I heard the commentator mention her I thought I'd misheard. Bloody awful.

How much did tickets for that set you back? When I lived in Northampton you could just hear the cars buzzing around the track in the distance. My mate's Dad used to work with Ford Cosworth and got free tickets every year, but I never went along, it never interested me enough.

when I lived in Hamilton, I was next to the racecourse. She once performed there, worst night of my life as my windows were no match for that horrible whiney screechy voice.

I've been three times, each time for nowt (in terms of tickets) as my uncle worked in the industry back then. He doesn't anymore, so I ant been in a few years and never will again because I've been and done it now. I've recently been to Monaco and would love to do an F1 weekend there, but I'd need to win the lottery I think. Been a goal of mine to do Spa, looks a great place, but when you're in a relationship these things get put to the back of your priority list unfortunately.

R lass not impressed yesterday when I suggested I might fancy Stalybridge next weekend.

"you're helping my sister on the farm next weekend, you did promise remember?"

Me and my drunken promises. Ah well. :D
