Good blog. He seems a top bloke. It does make you wonder about BFC and indeed the world of football when you hear stories like this. What stuck out for me is that he had missed out on taking his kids to watch the reds due to putting the club first for so many years, just wrong, and how much is this saving? pennies compared to signing s#ithouses like treacy and lita. My town. My club. My arse.

Is there any saving? Will the BBC, short on cash and making cut backs left right and centre, really be paying to send a commentator to oakwell just to hand that commentary over to the club free of charge?
To be fair though how many of us miss out on time with the kids due to working overtime or weekends etc, decisions we all make knowing employers owe us nothing other than what they pay you at the time. Not nice but hope once the dust settles it doesnt stop him attending oakwell or supporting the Reds as many have commentated it was his passion for the Reds that so many of us identified with
5 minutes? So judging by your intelligence and reading skills that's at least 3 sentences you managed then.
In related news, I'm very tempted to go to Dusseldorf in October for the Fury/Klitschko world title fight. Not asked permission off the missus yet though, so I'm still revelling in the idea for now. She'll soon burst that bubble.
Do it. What a night out Dusseldorf is, should be able to catch a game in the region too with so many clubs in the vicinity.
Thanks for that Whitey, good blog and tribute vid, but would have liked a replay of that night at Oldham, one of the funniest things I've heard in a commentary ever.! Will miss their commentary when on Hols and mid week.
I can relate to most of that Having done a similar job for 4 years. My summary of my time doing it would be that 90% of it was great and really enjoyable, but there was always this nagging at the back of your mind that Big Brother was watching and waiting to catch you out. It turned out to be true when I got sacked for nowt (well, having an opinion and not towing the club line every week) and it showed me how not many people at the club at the time had any balls whatsoever. I have every sympathy for Matt and Adam, I know how they feel.
Good interview. The Jim Mcnulty joke should have been referenced though. Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
Re: I can relate to most of that Yeah I thought of you and what happened to you as soon as I saw what had happened to Matt. To be fair though journo, a Sunday league keeper SHOULD have saved it
