    Fee agreed, seems he has a buy out clause in his contract unless 'Fixed fee clause in contract' means something else, although we have competition from a Championship team

    This is an excellent signing. He could have signed to play rugby league for Wigan, but choose football instead. From FL highlights, he looks a live-wire midfielder, very combative and willing to get forward into scoring positions. We have done well to bring him in, if it turns out to be true and everything is agreed. Johnson has brought in plenty of combative players and I am just hoping we have enough flair players to be creative as well. The key position now has to be striker/target man. I would be pleased to see Waring back on loan, but think we also need one more as well. What happened to all those Oldham players who were supposed to be coming? Kelly? Another defensive and combative holding midfielder. Not sure how many we will score, but we should be really hard to beat on the way the squad is being constructed.

    This guy seems to have quite a lot of potential from what I've seen/read, I'd be quite surprised if we got him with other clubs sniffing around too.

    Having said that, with Mawson's potential and the fact other clubs were looking at him I didn't think we'd sign him and here he is so what do I know

    Agreed, we've nicked players from teams higher in divisions before and lets hope we do it again, we need to be straight on his case with a contract. I'd ahte us to miss this in 2-3 years he becomes another Trippier.

    Im trying to not keep my hopes up now theres interest from Championship, but we've done it before and signed them...

    Don't worry even if he chooses Hull Tigers, we'll no doubt have another target lined up, so as soon as we find out we've missed out we'll be straight on the case and have a bid in for our new target, that's how it works isn't it ?

    I thought once someone actually offers the buy-out clause, they have to accept and then its up to the player?

    You'd expect so, but you never know nowadays. Wasn't it Devaney who had a strange clause in his contract? Blackpool made a bid which met the clause, meaning they were allowed to talk to him, but we didn't have to sell him for that same amount. I could've imagined this one.
