We've had lads called Vigurs, Rowe, Romeo on trial recently plus that Maxwell kid has signed that scholarship deal. Ben wasn't sure if they were all still training with us, but if they are then you'd imagine a friendly would be ideal in terms of assessing them etc.

Yeh he's signed but no real official club announcement because he's only for the under 21's. Joined just after a lad from Man United, a lad from Newcastle and the other one was from Blackburn I think.
Poor if the case. Would prefer our squad to be full of guys we know for sure we want to be playing for us next season, as now is the time to get the team geling. It was said on here the other day that Cranie was training with the reserves. I wonder if we might see a U turn and give him some game time at the weekend.....He was linked for ages to Rotherham but now they have Halford that will be dead.
You think it's poor that we'll play trialists in a friendly? How else do we see them in action? That's the point of a trial.
PVA is the glue of choice. With our new way of recruitment with stats etc we should know if a player is good enough now based on that or with pre season training included without using them in a team line up. It's not like we learn much from trailists or that we give them much of a go anyway. Look at last season with the guy who did alright against Man United 11 and we got shut of after that one appearance.
