According to transfer rumours on ****ter. £600k being mentioned. Shame but we can't gamble that much on a L2 player. When you think Hourihane, Winnall and scowen cost that combined. Fair play to the club if that's true. Good luck to the lad. Hope he doesn't end up rotting on bench at championship club.
Cant keep up with this last night we had a bid accepted according to twitter now we have pulled out. Your right though 600k too much to gamble for a 19 year old league two player.
£200k was too much anyway. He will more than likely end up warming the bench of a championship side before being loaned out to a L1/L2 side. Fair play to Carlisle telling everyone they had turned down a bid - seemed to generate more interest in the player.
Do you know what Twitter is? When you say "according to Twitter", what do you think that means? You should realise that it's just a platform for anybody to say anything at all
If he's a release clause for 400k and we've already had a bid accepted then we will still be in the running for him at 400k, so dunno where 600k is coming from.
But surely he can talk to all clubs that met the release clause? So there would be no point in bidding more than the release clause...
No one will pay more then the release price, 5 times bid the same price all are accepted, the lad talks to all 5 then signs for the team that offers him the best deal,
It does because that's his release clause. Any team that bids that can try and sign him. Bidding more doesn't make him more likely to sign for you.
That's how I'd assumed it works, but it would seem strange for us to have dropped out of the race if we hadn't somehow been priced out of the running. Wage demands?
I reckon we are still in the chase for Dempsey and it is a similar situation to the one when we were chasing Alfie.
Could be right with wage demands. Although it's not always about salary or we'd have not got Mawson for example.
You're mistaking rumour for fact. None of this as 100% happened it's all hear say and guess work, trying to make head or tail of it is silliness.
The Huddersfield Examiner have published about 5 separate articles on the lad this week, so I'm starting to think they know summat. This is the most interesting article. http://www.examiner.co.uk/sport/football/news/one-most-determined-young-footballers-9622195 He's not a winger.
Basically seems to be an attacking midfielder/striker so would fit into our team well with hourihane in the centre and Scowen deeper. Sounds good that...! If he wants regular first team football he should stay with Carlisle or come to us but good luck to him wherever he goes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed
