Use the money for Liam kelly perhaps? Or try and get Pearson back on loan?

Pearson isn't good enough to move us forward. He was a big part of a poor midfield

Not sure what you mean. Wasn't he in a midfield with Scowen and Hourihane? Have they left?

I think at the moment, Pearson is a decent League 1 midfielder but he has the potential to be a decent Championship player. If we were looking for promotion, we can get better than Pearson if it was a loan deal but to sign him permanently would be a right coup as he's got so much potential. Same goes with Waring.

So who will our holding midfielder be?

He's said in his interview he can't wait to play alongside the 'exceptional talent' that is Jacob Butterfield.

    Sorry.

Unless we sign Kelly, I would say Digby.

I thought Hourihane played there for Plymouth and for us in pre-season last year? If we dont trust Digby then we should put the roughly the 300k towards Kelly?

In that case get Pearson back.

What is Bree's natural position? I know he's a midfielder but is he a holding midfielder?

Not sure I've seen him about 25/30 times and never seen him in midfield, but keep hearing he's a midfielder so god knows

There's an interview on Player with Bree, says Johnson sees him as a full back and expects to play there this season.

Saw him in the youth cup at Bradford in midfield. He looked piss poor and it was the game where he did his back in and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Won't be long before he's playing against us in League one.

    Fancy them to go down?

Defensively they're not good enough, but a match for any side in midfield/up front. Got the best midfielder in the division for a start. :)

Somewhere between 12th and 18th in my opinion. Not bad for a club who don't overspend. They're basically what we were when we were up there.

They're a far better run club, with much more money at their disposal .

They're into Hoyle for over £30m though.

But yes, they probably are a better run outfit. We're catching them up in terms of sponsors etc, but even in the Championship we weren't paying lads 12 and 15 grand a week.

And yet they are still running 21st (last season anyway) in terms of budget/wage bill etc. Just shows how money mental football has become.

That league is far too strong for us now, we'll never compete in the championship without becoming a millionaires play thing, league one is becoming what the championship was 6,7,8 years ago in way of unpredictability and evenly ish matched teams the football is better then was last time too.

If we continue signing good, young, lower league talent and develop and keep hold of them, we could compete if we went up.
