Any examples of where you think the perfect person was picked for a role? And any where they got completely the wrong person. Not necessarily a bad actor but just wrong for that job. Perfect: heath ledger as the joker Worst: Vince Vaughan in the psycho remake
In the books Jack Reacher is described as 6' 5" tall, 250lbs of solid muscle, with cropped blonde hair. Naturally you're now picturing Tom Cruise, who played him in the movie. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hayden Christensen in Star Wars, just awful. Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman in Amercian Psycho - the film had a tough job of following the book, and didn't really do it justice, but Bale was superb in the role.
Christoph Waltz as Dr. King Schultz in Django Unchanied. Incredible performance. Worst for me is both actors to have played Peter Parker/Spiderman.
Not a film but I've always found Steve Buscemi as Nucky Thompson in Boardwalk Empire completely baffling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think Dead Mans Shoes is one of the best films I've ever seen and I can't imagine anyone else playing Paddy Considine's character. Does that count? I think Kevin Costner is ******* dreadful in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, as was a usually fantastic actor in Russell Crowe in the last Robin Hood film. One day they'll make a proper fist of that brilliant tale, with northern, english actors.
Heath Ledger is the one everyone says, as he was absolutely class in that film. I also like the character of Robert De Niro in Heat.
Good call. But, I could say Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys, Brad Pitt in Fight Club. He's an extraordinarily good actor.
I think that's cheating a little bit as the part was written specifically for him, but I agree it was a great performance. The casting in Goodfellas was superb across the board. Bad casting? Sofia Coppola in Godfather Pt 3
Who would you go for as robin hood? The natural one is Sean Bean I guess but I'm thinking Orlando Bloom could pull it off or Ewan McGregor
Paddy Considine, funnily enough. I'd like it to be a proper retelling, same kind of angle as the last one, rather than the full on Hollywood ******** of 'Thieves'. Considine would be perfect for it. Can't see another Robin Hood film being done though. The best Robin Hood film was this. We're men, we're men in tights. We roam around the forest looking for fights. John could play the lead role in that I just had to Google paddy considine but its a good shout
