on the news tonight it said that the major Euro's had taken the Greeks to one side to discuss their future... Britain was not one of the ones to be involved with this ..'take the Greeks to one side'... if that is not a total insult to Britain and the ultimate reason to opt out of their so called community then I do not know what is. I so hope we have a referendum... and unlike the Scotts have the Balls to pull out of a corrupt and totally biased system.
therefore the fore sight to keep the pound (sterling) seems to have been a good decision... Hmmm now what Govt Party took that decision... it also seems that the Tartan wearers over the wall seem to realise that they need that currency stability and yet want out of the Union... and yet Ms Sturgeon keeps on her high horse... get Jewson's in ... re build that wall... and build it bloody higher
I note this morning as part of the 'rescue ' that Greece's public services etc will be put into private hands - IE banks and corporations- good old EU. Looking after the ones who call the tune Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A deal appears to have been struck this morning, although still subject to ratification by the Greek Parliament and oversight by IMF/ECB officials. The worrying aspect is the way in which Greek sovereignty over it's own affairs seems to have been the price of the deal. They are being told what laws to pass and what policies to adopt in the ongoing management of their economy. The referendum last weekend may as well not have taken place, because the EU has trampled all over it. Absolute proof that the endgame of the EU project is a federal Europe - and that with a dominant state. Dominc Lawson's column in yesterday's Sunday Times convincingly makes the case that an independent Scotland seeking to join the EU after separation would be obliged to join the Euro group as a price of entry, and with diminishing oil revenues (even since the September referendum on independence) would very much risk receiving the same treatment as Greece. Be careful what you wish for!
Not 'overdramatising' things to say... ...this latest bailout and the Transatlantic Trade agreement proposals means democracy is under threat like never before. Countries are no longer in the hands of the Governnments/those who vote for them. Increasingly, it is the 'puppet masters' pulling the strings i.e. Corporations, bankers and big business, not to mention unelected EU officials who 'run' countries. Greece will never be free of debt. I have no problem with regulate capitalism but this free for all is destrying peoples lives!
We weren't asked about it because we aren't in the Euro currency zone. Our neighbours wanted to play a different game to us. Now there's a dispute about their game which we've already said we didn't want to play so why is it insulting us when they sort out the dispute amongst themselves? Personally I would think it would be insulting to them IF we insisted on poking our noses in to their affairs when we passed by on the opportunity to join in with their game when it was offered to us.
And now they are trying to get us to pay 12% of Greece's bailout.... they don't consult us, but then have the cheek to even think about asking us to fork out nearly £1 billion quid.
