Just wondered. Would fans on here rather:

Finish 2nd playing boring, but effective football

    Or

Finish 3rd playing attractive, fast-paced, enjoyable football

2nd playing boring football would be my choice.

Surely it's got to be guaranteed promotion over playing fancy football in the play offs?

Not for me I'd rather be 3rd best team in league one, watching us win most weeks, playing quick passing high tempo football with a high work ethic closing down all over the field, and being able introduce our academy players at a level they're not out of their depth, then being board silly watching **** football where the only reward is a season in championship getting **** on every week. I'd take playing like I described and finishing 3rd producing good young players every season from now until the day I die to be honest

2nd would be better for me as it would make us the second best team in the league, guaranteed promotion and avoid the lottery of the play offs. What isn't acceptable is playing one up front against 5th and 6th tier opposition in "meaningless friendlies" and not scoring a goal for ourselves in three hours of football.

2nd for me. I would be content with good, passing football, and finishing mid table in the Championship.

We started off with two strikers and we were playing ***** aswell. And why would we play different formation in pre-season when we're going to play said formation in the league?

It's swings & roundabouts, I don't want to watch boring football but at certain times of the seasons & in certain games it's needed.

Over a season I guess you'd want guaranteed promotion & boring football but really it should be a case of having to grind results out against the good teams but play better football against some of the poorer sides

Now is the time to try many different formations and see what works best instead of putting all our eggs in one basket. If we play league games with one up front and Wilkinson out of position more as a midfielder/winger there will be alot of unhappy fans.

I agree mate but i think playing different formations wont get us to gel any faster, although, with the players we have now, i honestly dont care what formation we play...

The whole point of paying to watch a game is to be entertained win or lose.

My non attendances over the last season were because the product became dreaful to watch.
Play to entertain, have a go for gods sake, and I will return

If play off promotion follows the 3rd place finish, I'll go with that. If not, it's a no brainer. To finish 2nd, you have to win more than you lose anyway.

attractive football and 3rd every day of the week for me. the teams that get promoted such as Bristol and Franchise FC tend to play the best football anyway. its a mistake to think boring gets you promoted. Given our current squad avoiding relegation seems to be a more realistic hope.

Boring games where you try to keep a clean sheet and hope you get a lucky goal to steal the win gets you only one place I'm afraid and that is bottom half as evidenced by our 6 or 7 years of trying it every week, being bored shirtless and ending up where we are now with 6 players and another 12 employees who's boots haven't been worn for months

I think we got it spot in our last promotion from league one under Ritchie. Same again for me.
